Scrap it or new engine?

I haven't been on in a long time I know, I hadn't wanted to think about my poor MSP sitting in my driveway not being driven after I got shot. Of course once she got back on the road, she threw a rod. I really need advice, of what other engine I could possible put in much more cheaply than the orig. It would be the second engine in this car. ADVICE VERY NEEDED

price range? Any FSDE should work I think, but the late models have a forged crank, which is what you want. I think its 2001 or 2002 and up. There's a thread on here somewhere about engines, but I couldn't find it. Someone more qualified will chime in later. Dude you got shot....I need details.

Do you happen to know how much those cost?

I was in the wrong place at the wrong time during a robbery at my work. Here's pics from a week or two after.

Damn right in the clutch foot. Glas you're ok though. Price varies depending on where you get it from.

It will work.

You should take the Cam and Crank sensors off of your old motor as you have more confidence in them.

Dont bother to fully remove the intake manifold. Unbolt it from the head and use a piece of wire to hold it up against the firewall.

Whille you have it out, it would be a good time to install a rear mount from AWR if that is something you wanted to do in the past.

When you go to get the motor you can check it over quick, but it should drop in and run.

It would make me so happy if it would work. I really don't want to see it go, I've become very attached to my defective baby.

Any chance someone could post a link to reputable seller of FSDE? I just want to make sure I get the right thing, I've spent far too much on repairs to see it end this way.
