just a thought but maybe there should be sticky about what mods people have and reviews for said mods?

that's acutally a good idea. This kind of thread would answer a lot of the questions other members would ask when it comes to mods they don't have yet. and having it on one dedicated thread instead of crowding the MSP performance section would cut down on a lot of the excess threads posted about different mods. This could also give the forum members "real world" reviews instead of what gets put on vendor websites and also how certain mods react with other mods with all of the different setups everyone has on here. Overall, great idea.

yeah thats what i was thinkin. cause i remember seeing like 5 threads about oh what clutch should i get all at the same time or somethin lol

Well I'll chime in first i guess.

Exhaust - I have the 3" GHL true turbo back exhaust. Pro's: it is a true turbo back exhaust. Sounds great (high flow cat, no resonator) Lifetime warranty. Easy installation except for the downpipe can be extensive work. But if i can install it in my garage then the difficulty factor isn't to high. Cons: very expensive $1119 shipped

Exhaust manifold - Thunder manifold. I think i paid a little less than $400 shipped. Pros: anything is better than the crappy one Mazda supplied. Installation isn't too difficult (just wish i did it at same time as exhaust) Direct bolt on. Cons: I had to wait about 2 months to receive after ordering, and also don't see it listed anymore

Air intake - I originally had a AEM (bought used) and had to make my own recirculation fittings. Now have Injen and like it much better (only difference is the recirculation tube made at factory) Easiest installation you can ask for

FMIC - I have Corksport FMIC. This is a very nice piece, but just like the Thunder exhuast mani, I no longer see it for sale. Pricey piece, but i lucked out and got the FMIC, 2 fans, MAF and Injen intake on ebay for $375. I had to do some cutting in front of both wheels for pipe installation, but other than that I love it.

Intake manifold - I bought one from a website. $319 shipped, but just go to autozone for gaskets, alot cheaper. 1st one i got wasn't planed properly, but 2nd one was fine, great performance addition to car. No longer have butterfly valves, so have to let car warm up briefly before taking off bc of hesitation

I have many more, but have to head to bed

i was thinking setting it up like outlaws build thread kinda. like the person makes their own thread say for an exhaust and i take the link and organize it into categorys that way the searcher doesnt have to look through every post in the thread. they just look at the first one and it links to whoever wrote the review

thunder exhaust manifolds are made to order. You have to contact Protephile(here on the forum) for those. The Corksport FMIC is still listed on their website. I got mine for $800 a while back, but now they are well over a grand.

I knew that the Thunder manifold and corksport FMIC are not listed on protegegarage anymore. The thunder manifold i bought off of protege garage had to be made upon ordering. Wasn't told that by pg.com untill i called after a month wondering where it was. The guy who makes/sells them is on here? Bc they told me it was taking so long to get bc it was made in taiwan or something like that and customs was holding it up

It's a great idea .. but the unfortunate truth is that it's extremely difficult to put into practice. We could put a sticky at the top of each section, in capital letters, with enough **$%*$*$*# kinda symbols to blind someone -- and people will STILL create their own threads and clutter things up. A lot of people just don't bother to READ what's already there, they just barge in and do their own thing.

^what she said!

There's COUNTLESS times hen people post to see how much they can sell their MSP for, but there's a sticky there for it! People skip the stickies 70% of the time, all the time. (if you get that joke hahah :P )

i say do it.......but do it for each section of the car......like suspension, intake, exhaust....etc

those of you who have ever owned a dsm(i hve had about 10) may have heard of dsmwiki. it serves as the wikipedia of all that is dsm.

we have enough info on the msp and its brethren to do something similar......call it
mazdaspeedia or something. that way we can compile all this good info that gets lost in threads, or hidden in 1000 post when you try to search. just a thought. i think the community of msp/mp3/5 needs a complete place where they can find everything, seperate of the forum. i am getting deployed soon, i might just find time to do this while overseas.

any thoughts

Another issue I dislike about this idea is we are a SMALL market, there's not many parts FOR just the MSP, thus if you look around here for reviews it's really slim because there's not many MSPers that are active on here enough to make a full review, most of the reviews I see are on P5's and reg protg's because those said parts can go on any of them. But most items you would see(want to see) might have only one review in the 6+ years the item was out, but it could of sold over 100+, but those people really won't post up a thread. Best way to reach them is to make a thread asking people what they like/don't like about the said item. It hardly ever happens but when it does people respond, nothin long winded because they are on here enough to fully care. But they will give a responce in 2-3 sentances.... But have a more broud poll on the item.

Anyone understand/agree with me there?

yes, Protephile, here on the forums makes the thunder manifolds. Ths CS FMIC isn't on PG anymore but you can still get it directly from CS website.

Well i've owned my MSP since it was brand new, and plan on having it for life (long shot I know) I've done every bit of work on it myself and will always be willing to help someone to get theirs running. Seems like i've had a issue with about everything (except LSD and tranny) I spent a couple hours on phone with guy named ChristianMSP to help him get his straightened out
