Rear Windows

Yeah KY, that's normal .... and not all the way down.

Ironically, one of the reasons I bought my first Mazda was because the rear windows went down further than all of the other cars I was considering. It sucks for your buddies in the back when you're cruising for chicks and they have to hang their arm out of the partially open window.

If it's a law, it's a stupid one for cars with electric windows --- if you're worried about your brat rolling down the window too far, just use the lock-out switch on the driver side so they can't roll it down or up.

Just another case where the masses have to suffer because a few people thought it would be a good idea to limit the window travel. Damn polititians. Dumb.

wow

its giving us MSP owners a bad rep.
That's strange coming from a person who likes posting links to websites causing computer problems & work loss for many members here...

i also really liked that the rear windows whent nearly all the way down, i hate child safety windows.

now we just need all auto up and auto down.

You bet!!! That is one of the nicest features I noticed that the VW GTI has. Can't believe more automakers aren't smart enough to offer it.:wtf:

No one ignored you, it was that someone instist that theres DID go all the way. Sure you and I knew immedatly that it was a misunderstanding but we all had to be sure.

Not to mention its actualy the windows track that is limitinfg the windows travel not the door :p.
Ofcoarse the door is what is limiting the tracks size and all 3rd gen Proteges have the smae door, so as usaul you were correct although ignored.

JAC - how? I'd like that option, but only with the auto-stop safety stop that VW has (my ol' B5 turbo/chipped/modded Passat had that feature and I loved it).

There wasn't a law limiting window roll-down, it's cost - those longer tracks and redesigning doors cost money.

My MSP also has 1/2" showing - kids give it a thumbs up. Our MPV has roll-mostly-down rear windows, kids give that a WAY thumbs up. And yep, I'm old enough to have kids that care about such things, but young enough to really drive my MSP.

Looked at the pic, and no i was not ignoring anyone! I'm just not on here every sec of every day like some other people.... My rear window is like the one KYREDP5 picture ! If this is not good enough for some of you, i dunno. To me and the kids its good enough. Most cars I have owned the windows only go half way down! Come on people its only a fraction of an inch! ???????????
