Just letting everyone know i just found out that the 3M paint protector film that any tint shop uses can also be used to headlights and the headlights will not fog over.. instead the film will and it can be replaced.. so if you want to protect your headlights but dont want to tint them the clear 3M film is available at almost every tint shop.

Do you mean fog like a haze, when the plastic gets discolored? If so, the vinyl is a good option, but you can also protect it with a good polish & wax throughout the years when you do a good detail.

I am actually tinting my headlights, fog lights and tail lights soon with a 3M film. but this is also a 3M film.. just clear.. and yes a good polish and waxing will help with hazing as well.. but here is a link.. there a good bit of info on this site.

unfortunately tahts what it takes to do headlight restorations. Its not nearly as hard as it sounds however.
I had to do this on my MX-6 (when I got it the lights were already yellow). I was able to sand it down real well and then just clear coat, and it was good enough...but those headlights weren't nearly as clean as ours. To do it right, you have to put the work in...it shouldn't be hard, just tedious.

yay i simply took care of em, detailed them along with teh car every time id full detail.
Sadly, my much newer car driver side headlight started slight oxidation enough to make me feel its ugly.
The last owner trashed this car sadly, bad curbrash, bad paint potholes, swirlys, was missing original floormats, and dried out leather....
restoring all that slowly... new floormats, restored the leather, next im reconditioning the tires, and every month since buying the car i have been detailing to slowly work out swirlies... eventually needs a repaint...

Nope, haven't seen yours, but I think they all had the same problem with that headlight plastic. Fun and reliable car otherwise, though not quite in the same league as the MS6...
Yeah, that's the drawback of buying a used car. My leather has a couple of bad spots, the rear door interiors are a bit warped at the tops, nicks and chips abound, the bottom of the bumpers are both a bit messed up, etc. Once I get a good workspace, I'm going to try to clean a bunch of that all up, maybe even let someone do it for me so it's really sharp and then take care of it in the future.
Now, if the rain would let up and my Dashhawk would get here so I can start playing with my AP, I'd be happy.....

Sounds like it was either a used one they sold through, or else shipped from some other company instead of directly through Amazon. Makes sense with the shipping being screwed up as well. Amazon is pretty good at setting things right, so get after them and they'll take care of you.
I feel kinda bad, since I was probably the one that pointed you to that. I would have gone that route too, but I was still waiting for the outcome of the eBay auction I won for the Dashhawk. At $190 it was a great deal, but the guy never shipped it, and I finally had to take it to eBay and get a refund. I ordered one from SU, it's in the mail now. I also ordered some Densos from Amazon, gotta get those in before I plug in my AP and start playing around.
