ok, so what made it such a great deal? Did I miss that somewhere? Was it a sale or something?

Enjoy your new car....feels great doesn't it. That smell, that feel of a new toy....enjoy.

....Just close your eyes if you see anything orange coming at ya in a few weeks....hee hee..

Like Silver-P5 wrote...... the hood scoop is missing! ;) :D

Nice car! It's not a Mazdaspeed but I think it's a good car. Congradulation!!!

i cant' stand how everybody is making this car (MSP) to be god's gift to the automotive industry. as much as i would hate to see if happen i would love it if everybody got there's that had been waiting on them for months with down payments and all of a sudden they started blowing turbo's and engines. expect problems from this car. mark my words. how many cars have come into production without any mechanical problems in the first year or 2 of production? ought to be interesting. thats all i can say.

Acctually that dude does have a point...but I agree with you...people should just be happy for people...then it would be a better place :)

Nice car. I think a CF vented hood would look sweet. Also a drop and some rims. STI fog light cover too. Nice choice in color.

do i see a little bit of jealousy jeckle, and daemos, i think you are just jealous mazda got callaway to put a reliable turbo on the protege, so now you are mad because your car is not going to be as reliable because your car doesn't come stock turbo.

Someone had to say it. A lot of you guys remind me of the Civic guys when the Si(R)'s first came out.

no, no jelousy here. my turbo car runs just fine and quick as hell. i don't have a problem with the car, i like the MSP and may get one. still not sure on that one yet though. how many cars have you know that have not had one problem in the first year or so of production? anybody care to name off some fine examples?

I know of a couple of vehicles that have been in production for a few years now and they still have a couple of little bugs. Nothing major of course but they sliding floor mats in the 98 Civic EX Coupe were a pain. The clunking swaybar on the MP3 was a problem for a lot of people and the squeeky drivers side power window on the 02 WRX is a real b****.

If you're speaking of strictly mechanical problems that will arise I honestly don't tihnk you'll see to many on the MSP. It's built on the same BJ chassis as the last 3 years of Protege have come with. The FS motor is (with the exception of the Turbo & ECU) the identical motor found in ES 2.0, P5 and MP3 so we shouldn't encounter any major "recall issues". The transmission is the same as the P5 and MP3, but with a better clutch so it should be fine as well. The only thing I can see going wrong would be the turbo inlet piping which had been rumored to have a fitament issue and as far as the turbo itself goes, it's only a little baby t25. The motor can't see too much stress from a turbo like that especially at the stock boost level.

I totally understand what you're getting at jeckel, it would really suck goat balls if the MSP gets here and is full of bugs, but I have more faith in Mazda as a company than that. I would expect that kind thing to happen with for like they did with the first model Focus or Cadillac did with the Catera, that sucker had one problem after the next. Mostly electrical there though.
