oil change time??

i now have 25,000 miles on my p5 and was wondering which grade of oil i should use now??? or should i just stick with the 10w30.

I have been on Mobile 1 since 1000 miles--> 5W30 (same thing Vette get at the factory).

At 20,000 miles, I am change to royal purple synthetic for the engine and the tranny. Cannot hurt it, but only improve it!!!

Mobile is a city in Alabama, and they don't have any oil ;)

The 10W-30 you've been using all along is fine - You can jump up to a synthetic if you like, but if you're already doing 3 to 4K oil changes, the "benefits" aren't worth the extra cost, IMHO

Ive been using Mobile1 syn changin every 5k miles. I need to change my oil this weekend, but I have a question. I use Rhino Ramps when I change my oil. When using these ramps (or any other), will all of the oil come out at that angle? When you get your oil changed at the shop, they lift your car straight up. Im just worried that I will have old oil sitting at the bottom each time I change my oil. Anyone have any comments on this?

I switched to M1 at 80000km..and its worth the extra coin, imo. If you do it yourself, the cost diff is minimal.

tj-mx6, did you see my post above? How do you change your oil? Do you use a jack or ramps?

Use jack stands..

Keep the car level...
You will not get all the oil out...
Fram came out with a oil plug system..
Check it out...

Ramps work fine. No prob. Chock the rear wheels and hand brake and you'll be safe.
As Im on a slight decline anyway, by using the ramps, Im pretty much level. What little bit of old oil that might be left is of no concern. I use oem filter.
