NRG Ground wire kit

I just used some 12 gauge speaker cable I had laying around to solve a grounding issue I was seeing after cleaning up some of the wiring a couple years ago.

I've had a proper grounding kit on my wish list for some time, and crossover appears to still carry the NGK. My concern is where does it mount? There isn't a whole lot of room in my engine bay with the strut reinforcement bar there pretty much right over the negative terminal.

Does anyone have any pictures of their install? I searched but couldn't find any.

Correction, it is NRG. Maybe that's why I haven't found any pictures. Assumed it was the same as the spark plug company.

Ok yeah, found one, apparently it just mounts to the negative terminal and there is enough room to swing it back towards the firewall. $50, we'll see how it goes.

At that price you can crimp your own with 0 gauge and still have enough money left over for beer

I don't know where you get 0 gauge, and the places online I've seen it, it is every bit as expensive as the kit. The NRG plate looks nice too.

I ended up buying it from Newegg of all places because the hub was annodized red. Yes I will post pics once installed.

I just bought two of his catch cans and had him machine my VC to AN fittings, I would have never thought to ask.

I have a custom grounding set on my P5 as well. I just followed the lines from the PS tank, all the way to the battery, so that they are all connected to each other. You can do it three ways to connect to the battery, either use a battery mount (kinda like for audio builds and what not, a specific grounding kit mount, or the grounding point to the right of the battery on the strut mount.

Yup! just make sure that you seal the ends properly, this prevents alot of headaches later on.

plus the cost of the connectors, the heat shrink to do it properly and if you have never crimped a 0ga connector before you will ruin one at least getting it right. Out of simplicity kits are sometimes worth it, if you really feel the need for a ground kit in your car.

Here is some pics with it installed. I didn't put the sticker on yet over the middle bolt in case I decide I want to move something around. The kit came with 7 wires that were all different lengths, so you had to play around with which ones looked better where. The post for the original negative cable is a good system, as it is now hidden underneath the mounting plate. Instructions could have been more helpful as the small picture in the box was a little ambiguous. If you buy this kit, don't install the cables on the mounting plate until after the plate is good and tight on the battery mount. I figured the cables would be easier to install first, but then you can't rotate plate clockwise to tighten the post. I am sure this makes no sense if you haven't seen it, but you'll understand if you buy the kit.
