evilmonkeyMSP said:which nut are you trying to break free? circle the one in the pic you posted earlier...
evilmonkeyMSP said:hmmm...i dunno man...i read that its really tight... are you sure you're using the right size socket? it shouldnt ruin the nut if you are...
maybe try the other nut? lol
evilmonkeyMSP said:i guess if all else fails you can unbolt the sway bar and that will allow the endlinks to drop down enough you'd have to losen the struts on both sides of the car tho
evilmonkeyMSP said:well that would be something to do w/ and extra set of hands available...
Unbolt sway bar, unbolt 1 strut (have some one hold that up, unbolt the other strut and lower...
jeg0024 said:yeah, putting them back it would be the b**** though, im gonna get those end links off one way or another, i just have to wait on help either way i guess. I dont feel comfertable about leaving my car up on stands though, i acually sat in it to take the top strut bolts out and immediately i said...s***, its on stands, and jumped out lol. Im gonna try to attach a pic of what i meant by my dad being anal about it being on stands too lol...oh, and yes, I know theres a huge dent there, it was from when my stupid ass friend jacked up my car when I got a flat.
maestro said:So after spraying both ends of the offending endlink with WD or other penetrant and letting it soak in you still can't get either end loose?
If you have a socket style allen key (better leverage) and a long 14mm wrench you should be able to break the nut loose. One of my front endlinks had the same problem when I changed out he struts/springs. The top nut attaching he link to the strut was rusted the F' on there. soked it for a few hours while I calmed down then finaly muscled the F'er loose.
evilmonkeyMSP said:lol i was gonna say, no wonder your dad is anal about it...look at what your friend did....in all actuality thats what the stands are for... unless you get in the car and start dancing in it, its not coming down...
jeg0024 said:yeah, i just mean my friend(lezbo) just called and wanted to hang out, i just dont know about leaving the car up on stands while im gone, but it should be fine with that other stuff under there.
evilmonkeyMSP said:tell your lezbo friend to come over and hold up a shock while you take off the sway bar lol
jeg0024 said:and for the record i am not gay i have a bf and i am about to get married. lol
jeg0024 said:The problem is that the whole thing is moving, threads and all. And I could not find a 14mm wrench and I dont have a socket style allen wrenchThe thing has been soking sence I started complaining about it at 10 this morning, so its been a good 4 hours, I shoulda been done by now and on my way to get an alignment, its really pissing me off.
