New P5 owner. Glad to be on "board"

I just picked up a 2003 Laser Blue P5 a couple weeks ago!

I must say that it is a fabulous car! Aside from the mildly annoying dash rattle that seems to be common in these cars, I think Mazda has built a fine automobile. And the color...oooh, the color. Both my wife and I fell in love with the Laser blue. We've received more compliments on this color in two weeks than we ever did the entire time we owned our Chameleon Blue Probe GT (another awesome handling mostly-Mazda car).

Got to hand it to Mazda. They do know how to make cars that are fun to drive.

Make sure you dont have some random crap in your cupholders or the little pocket area making the noise. Sounds stupid but that fixed my rattle

Dash Rattle

I haven't had a chance to clutter my cupholders yet but it does seem to come from that general area. When I hit a bump or a series of expansion joints in the road it sounds like something tapping on plastic. Like someone threw a golf tee in my ash tray or dropped one in the heater vent. I've tried to pin point it but have only been able to narrow it down to the area behind the HVAC controls. I'm sure Mazda would cover it under warranty but I'm a little leary about someone tearing apart my brand new dash and causing more squeaks and rattles in order to cure one.

Nice Probe SE

My previous car was a Chameleon Blue Probe GT. I loved that car!

Chameleon Blue has to be one of the coolest factory colors. I actually had a road construction worker stop the entire line of traffic I was in to get a better look at the paintjob.

The color is what sold me on the car. Its a sweet color thats not too flashy. I dont see too many cars around with this color which is also nice. Never had anyone stop traffic to see my car though. Thats pretty darn crazy!

the only rattle i have comes from my quarters in the little holder on the dash. i do have a clunk nosie coming from the passenger side rear. i didn't have it before i lowered the car?? it's just on that one side though?? it's not bad just hear it on the big bumps.
lookin to get a turbo on this spring.
