Hello everyone. After much searching I finally found a forum for the MazdaSpeed's, I am very excited.
My car is a 2003 Black MazdaSpeed Protege (i'll find out the number later). I found the car randomly in texas at a really small mazda dealership. I was shopping for cars and didn't even know this car existed until I saw it there. After hearing there was a limited number and how damn good it looked I scooped it up.
I've had it for about 4 months now and I LOVE IT. I've been reading some of the pages before posting this and all the information is very interesting.
First off does anyone know another good website like this with Mazdaspeed info?
Also it seems like the MSP has different boost from car to car with the posts I was reading, is that really true?
If so that would answer some questions. Like why do magazines test times for the MSP vary from like 7.6 (0-60) to a 6.7. Also my girlfriend has a Mercedes C230 and our cars are rated about the same but I always smoke her. Even when I am driving her car it just feels slower, so maybe I got a higher psi turbo, who knows.
Also is there a good website that talks about MSP upgrades? I know this site has them, but there are so many posts they are hard to find.
I pretty much have a vision of my car in my head of what I want to do. But i do not know the real world parts that are going to do it for me. I also saw the sticky thread about modifications and that was good. But I am looking for more info about big power gains. New turbo's, maybe a All Wheel Drive install (hey who knows) stuff like that. Is that hiding here somewhere on the site?
Also I was trying to find a thread on people's own mods. What they have done, and the power, handling, whatever increases they got, is that somewhere on here? I just found a lot of talk and few actual numbers so I am really curious.
