New Mazdaspeed Parts Catalog...nothing for us.

2003.5 Titanium-Gray Mazdaspeed Protege
So we get this big-ass package at my dealership today of promotional material for new Mazdaspeed parts. The parts catalog itself has for each model car a clutch, flywheel, brake pads, multiple suspension options, exhaust, wheels, shifters, etc, etc. All Mazdaspeed brand Parts for all cars... BUT NOT ONE FRICKIN' PROTEGE PART. They even have the nerve to have that god damn blue protege with white lettering all racing around the first 2 pages. So they can exploit our car for it's success in racing but can't offer us any parts, huh? Bastards. For christ sakes, I can get a short shifter and mazdaspeed grille for my 3i..... but I can't even get ******' CF window switch bezel over here for a protege?!?!? I understand they don't make it anymore, but it's like Mazda wants to forget about our car quickly like it was some horrible mistake made when drunk and in Vegas. Wouldn't it be nice to have some 1st party support for our car aside from a slightly nicer muffler replacement?

It's not "obselete". It's just "out of production.(enguard)

yeah what he said! (smash) (enguard) (stfu) (ricer) (help) (gun) (yellomp3)

2003 mazdaspeeds WERE a mistake.
why do u think 2003.5 was a different design.....?

Why do you think that they stopped making the Speeds and the Proteges? They obviously could not get it right.

no, proteges were great cars and mazda had good success with them all arround the world.
i'm talking about 2003 model MSPs.

yeah, the MSP have all of the same suspension problems as the MP3. You would have figured they would have atleast fixed it or done something different. But who knows what they were thinking.

There are Mazdaspeed parts for the Protege... its called what the MSP's came with.

Thye may not make stuff but im sure they still stock Mazdaspeed parts. Are we talking about Mazda motorsports or Mazdaspeed parts sold at the dealers?

Because im sure Mazda Motorsports still sells stuff because alof of people are still racing the protege.

I think the MSPs as well as the MP3 were more like Marketing tools than end products for the consumer. Or perhaps a group within Mazda wanted to make a Mazdaspeed series but had to prove their point with a small batch of cars. It seems to have worked though as the MSM is been produced for 2 years now, then there is the MS6 coming out... I think that sooner or later there will be a steady Mazdaspeed line maybe involving more than one model. As for the Proteg, it was tuned by partners (Calloway, Racing Beat...) so it's logical that they don't have parts (exept for the Japanese stuff they used on the Special20) nor that they should make them since the car is out of production...

The point is that the catalog is for Mazdaspeed parts for all current models. Why would they still make parts for a car they no longer produce?

Seems pretty simple to me.

no but they well the turbo kits through Mazdamotosports and you can also get an upgraded aluminum radiator that fits the Mazdaspeed Protege.

But you have to race your car to buy anything form there...which suggest people do race them...in scca or whatever.

I know, but this is not an old car by any means, and they sold a s*** load of protege's in '03 alone....I understand why they don't have protege Mazdaspeed parts...but it would be nice to have some first party supprt that I don't need to race to qualitfy to buy. The parts don't even have to be in the catalog...but a Mazdaspeed SMIC upgrade, SRI, hell SOMETHING. I don't want to register to race just to buy a frickin MazSpd flywheel, ya know?

Ahhhh....very true....didn't think of that before.

its pretty sad they still sell ECU upgrades for a 1985 2.2 liter turbo four and we can't even get springs for an 02 protege
