That's because the R32 is fat and slow. It's barely faster than a GTI.

Friend of mine had a mildly modified VR6 and was slightly faster than a bone-stock R32 he raced. If you give it more power and more weight, to a certain point, you are just evening it out

It is the same motor that that Volvo S40 T-5 has. Its just tuned. I would just go buy a used S40 T-5 and do software and a few other bits and it would be running with these cars.

Make mine a V50...and you could get the Volvos with AWD. Super-hoon sleeper Volvo wagon FTW!

3 MPS = best bang for the buck (I love my wife's and drive it whenever I get the chance). The Evo is friggin' sick, but I ain't paying $50K for it.

Ok, which would you rather have, to actually own with your own money. Please state why, not just I'd have the RS cos its got green paint thing either!

Well this is what it is... Evo STI and the R36 are AWD of course. The R36 is slow and the EVO is totally electronic along with the STI any more. So none of these cars are worth it for the money so I will keep my 15k and my speed3.

ah yes, the purely mechanical MS3. available for only $20,000.

in my mind price is close enough with these cars that it doesn't come into the picture (since this isn't a "what am i going to go buy today" poll). it's not like comparing a ferrari to an MS3; they're all relatively cheap sport compacts. i look at it as "which would i most enjoy driving and owning" and i think the sti of this group wins. if it was a non-MR evo then perhaps the evo would win. and to me a performance car has power going to the rear

Focus gets my nod

Evo, which being the best performing, to me is hideous as all getout. It's front end is stubby and porky, it's backend is well, American Focusesque and boring as well as no left foot

STI is well, ugly and fattened beyond it's usefulness in my eyes. After seeing them in real life on a dealer lot, theres nothing about it that draws me to it

MS3 is the best bang for the buck but it still finishes a close 2nd

GTI R36 is well, as said, slow and porky, sorry VW, go back to your roots...small and light, not beefy and heavy

Focus is just plain sexy and the whole mystique of not being able to get one adds to it's flavor
