Navigation, SD card and GPS question

Your car has GPS receiver to triangulate where your car is on earth. It needs 4 satellites visible to it. Your SD card has the map. Working together, they can show where your car is on the map. The SD card also contains extra info than map. e.g. speed limits, traffic lights, etc.

My Mazda navigation shows traffic congestion, even when my phone isn’t in the car. Where is it getting this information from?
edit: plus I get weather alerts.

I believe the car has a cellular modem that it uses for this purpose along with remote start and the other Mazda App features.

for SD cards its Sirius travel link that shows live traffic, weather etc. Signature gets it for free for a predefined period and after that period its paid service.
Not sure for 2025+ models- prob same.
For 2026 its google.
