Mine has been clunking for several months. I have replaced the front struts and everything involved with them. They had been leaking oil anyway. It now clunks and clanks worse, and a slight but nagging drift to the right wasn't cleared up either. I've aligned it 3 times trying to fix that. I found my clunk. It was a stripped bolt in the ball joint on the passenger side. That side had been repaired before I bought it in 2003 (it's an '02) so I bet someone cross threaded it then. It lasted nine years. A new bolt fixed it right up.
A question: It had a "10" stamped in the center of the bolt-head. I assumed that was the hardness grade. I know the SAE marks, but not metric.
