My rear hatch won't open!!!

I noticed that my rear hatch liftgate was getting harder and harder to open and now it won't open at all. Anyone here ever have that problem? The dealer wants $400+ to fix it but he told me they are probably going to break the latch to get it open and then replace it. I can do that myself! Everything looks like it moves the right way and I even hear the power locks unlocking. Is there a way to open the hatch from inside the vehicle normally? I don't see a way to open it it from the inside.

Yes there is, look in your manual, one of the sections describes how to remove the rear plastic from inside to be able to open from inside. Also, lube it all up with PB blaster and then some silicone grease or similar and see what happens. good luck...

thanks. I was gonna say,what if you wreck and that's the only way out? I'll try it tonight.
