ANYONE HAVE ANY SIMILAR PROBLEMS - MY CAR HESITATES - HOPS, STUTTERS WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT MOSTLY AT 3000 RPM- VERY LITTLE POWER - GETS WORSE THE LONGER I DRIVE IT - LOTS OF INTERIOR HEAT - FEELS LIKE AN OVEN - BUT TEMP GAUGE READS NORMAL - COMING DOWN FROM 5TH GEAR AND 80 MPH AS I SLOW DOWN IT SOUNDS LIKE A DAMN AIRPLANE LANDING.

Injen intakes help out a bit and I believe Ion has claimed there intecoller will get rid of most of it.
Mazda or I should say people testing for mazda has mentioned a newly tuned computer program will soon be at dealers to fix the problem. YOu will just need to call your dealer about it once its out and they will reprogram the cars computer.

You can also try resetting the ECU, has worked for for about 500 miles. Just unplug the battery, tap the brakes, and let it sit for about a hour.

Hesitation? what are you talking about? This car is so fast I caused a temporal rift on the drive to work.

It'll only get worse if the car idles for an extended period of time.
ALL turbo cars experience heat soak.
NO turbo car will experience Heat soak in motion.
Unless yo have completely sealed the front end and wrapped the I/C in Saran. Then we might have issues.
The ECU reset works, but plan on about 5 minutes to reprogram that d@mn radio... and you can get around the hesitation a little by throttle modulation - getting out of the throttle a bit can actually give you more power, say, when you're on a constant uphill. Cool weather helps too, so we should see a decrease in hesitation complaints come Fall.
There's one orange MSP near me who's apparently pursuing a lemon-law rebate due to the hesitation, and I don't think he's that far off (I'd support him/her if I knew himher, would like details...). I'm not that frustrated yet and am holding off a month or two to see about Mazda's reprogramming. We should continue to make some stink about it though - heck, RX-8 owners were given a $500 gift card because THEIR cars didn't make the hp promised by the factory, so the precedent is set.
Check boostisgood's thread (the 4-page one); he and chojin are keeping a really good eye on things, have contacted Mazda and everything.
