My First Problem with my MS6!?!?

Hey guys as you know I got my MS6 last tuesday and have had it for a week now. I love this car, its amazing. I already have 800 miles on it. Anyways i recently notice something going on with my car. While driving my car home from a friends house i came to a red light. I had the car in neutral and was completely stopped. I realized that the car was idling at around 900 rpms (which is pretty much standard). All of a sudden the Rpm started to drop a little (around to 750-600 rpms) and the car start vibrating a little bit. It was definately noticeable but not that crucial. Has this happened to anyone before?? What could this be?? I will be taken my car in for an oil change on Saturday to the dealership so I will be having them take a look at it then.

Is this something i should be worried about? someone please let me know!!

That's a new one to me. I don't recall seeing anything like this either here or on another board. I have had mine for a little over a month, about 2,000 miles and no signs of any abnormal idle (even with the recent cold weather). I will say that your normal idle should be less than 900 rpm, don't have ready access to my manuals but normally a manual car idles around 700-750. Definitely have the dealer check it out.

I'll have to agree with chiefmg, as far as I understood a cars normal idle RPM after its warmed up should be 700-750-800. Was the car fully warmed up by the time you started driving? it may just have been it lowering the RPM after sensing the appropriate engine temp. I dont know how long the 6s take to warm up, but on my pro I will normally leave it on for at least 5 minutes to get it warm, longer if its below 55f outside.

i haven't had mine do that to me, but have you done your ecu reflash from the recall? i had mine lag really bad while normal driving, power would just fell off after 3,000 rpm before i took it in before the reflash. works just fine now!

Did the fan kick on? any car i've had, when the fan kicks on, the rpms will dip a little.

My old Protege5 used to do it all the time. I never had it checked out and it never seemed to hurt anything but every once in a while it would just dip down to 500rpm or below for no reason while idling.

I think I am going to have to take my Speed6 in for service soon as the DSC warning light has been on for about a week now. It has happened once or twice before but it always went off after a few starts.

Well my car officially Idles at between 800-900 Rpms. Thats reading is at normal engine temperature. As far as a/c .... its cold outside, since the fact its winter I leave my heat on. I set it to Auto and leave it around 75-78F. (would that active the fan??) This only seems to happen when I come to a Redlight and I am sitting there for a while and I notice the Rpms kinda drop to 600-700 back and forth back and forth along with a little vibration from the car. (like its shaking).

It seems weird. I drove the car today and didn't really notice it happening. Ill keep monitoring it for the next couple of days to see what happens.

Ive seen that happening on my car on several occasions (~ 3 times), i noticed it because of the slight vibrations that came and went away (it dipped to 600-ish and back to 1k)..with radio, heated seats and heater on..this was when my car is still cold though...has been awfully cold for hte past few days ( ~ 12F )...
Once warmed up i did not see it happening anymore..

My check engine light came on and went away few times though, dealer said they could not catch any code or errors...it always come on when it's very cold, and goes off when i'm about to go to the dealer...yishh...cause i'm gonna get new wheel locks tomorrow and the check engine light mysteriously went away...soree for being off course..

my msp would do this from time to time. Cheap gas would do it. Also, when you put the climate control on auto, turn off the A/C. Do a search here on how to use it right, it's tricky.
