My car is coming !!!! YEEEHAAWWW!!!

that mesh thing isn't there anymore. it's relaced with what they call rx-7 cloth seats. Basically, a soft cloth with little square pattern to it.

There are pics here of it somewhere.

I think that mesh crap is a dumb idea anyway, it is just a place for dirt to hide, I so pity anyone that has kids and let them near that stuff ;)

So, being a Mp3 and MSP owner..
Is it that difficult to go back to driving an Mp3?.
I'm sure both cars drive similar if you're not in the spirited mood or in a hurry. It's mainly cosmestic changes.

How does the dealer get the rims and tire soo shiny? I remember when i got my car that way too. I try numerous times to get it that shiny when i was it but i can't. Unless it 'seems' that it is only that shiny because someone else cleaned it for me. And i'm not appreciating my own work. Who knows?

Having both the MP3 and a 03 MSP in my driveway right now...I have to agree with Newf's comparison reveiw.

The stereo is better in the MP3 and the steering is more responsive and tighter, may have something to do with the tires.

Overall driving going back and forth is painfull....you yearn for a turbo in the mp3...then you hop in the msp and you wish the turbo works like it should...

Limited. That pic was after I washed it quickly in my driveway (that's when I noticed the now famous nail :( ) You see, I took the car right off the truck. They pdi'd it, but I wanted to clean it.

The gel I use is Meguirs High gloss Tire Gel. I can't remember the exact name, but it's purple and smells nice :)

Expensive though. 16 bucks a bottle at wally mart or Canadian Tire. You apply it with a tire sponge, and let it dry. Much better then the crappy tire foam as it doesn't get get dust on your rims like the foam does, and it lasts through the rain a little better.

And the rims are shiney because their just shiney. Real shiney, the paint is cool. These pics are in the middle of a rainy day there was even fog floating around me. You should see it in the sun.

just an update, I think I did notice the hesitation on my speed yesterday. I remember driving the orange one here, and it just took off in every gear. granted, the orange was broken in, mine had under 100 kms on it. But, it seemed the turbo was erratic. Sometimes it would pin you in the seat, other times, you could hear it, but there wasn't really anything there in terms of power. I felt, the more I drove it, the better it got. Maybe she needs a few kms on it yet?

But it sounds soooo cool. Very addictive. I didn't think it was going to be that loud. The orange I drove I never really noticed it, but mine you can, specially when you lift off the gas. psssh! Wooosh! I love it.

Getting back in the mp3 last night and today. First things I noticed again were, the stiffer shifter, the roughness over bumps, and the mp3's clutch is easier to put to the floor. And of course my mp3's stereo's is still better...that will be fixed though.

Speaking of stereo, I'm amazed at how slow the led display is. The letters on it, as the song title scrolls, and the spectrum bounces to the music has a lot of delay to it, almost jerky. My Z828 is smooooth, no jerkiness at all, and the spectrum bounces to the music instantly. Anyone else notice this? I'm actually considering getting the dealer to put my z828 in it.

As many of you know we have a MP3 and a MSP...drove the mp3 the other day....a much more refined car....the msp is nice but harsh to drive in comparison.

I like the mp3 better...just wish it has a turbo

that's funny because I found the Speed the more refined of the two in most ways.

1. The ride quality isn't to harsh over bumps
2. The shifter is smoother and less notchy
3. Brakes will send you through the windshield.
4. Rims at least on the 2003.5 seem to have a higher quality paint on them.
5. Shifter is made of higher quality material and should last longer. MP3 one peels over time.
6. Little things like road noise is less. trunk opens easier. Better pedel feel on the 2003.5 at least.

Now the mp3

1. Stereo is tons better, higher quality all around.
2. Seats and interior look better, higher quality material used
3. Steering wheel is better softer eather, Speed is not quite the same.

AND WE CANADIANS GOT SHAFTED AGAIN and got normal protege mats. Why Mazda WHY?

Oh, and I forgot the paint....simply gorgeous on the speed in titanium. The metallic effect is wild. Whether it's thinner then the blue mica, only time will tell.

Something I forgot to mention when I had the titanium the first day. This just makes you wonder about kids these days.

So, this girl comes up to the car and sizes it up. She's about 20 yrs old, acts like she's 16.

Conversation went like the G= Girl M = Me

G: Cool car, love the color

M: Thanks

G: So, you got those windshield wiper lights on that right, cause their cool

M: *gasps for air* GOD NO.

G: Well, do your wheels light up when you move?

M: What the $%^&....NO

G: But your license plate lights up right?

M: Please go away !

G: Why? I think all that makes the car soo cool at night, you got to at least get some neon thingies under the car.

M: That's enough, go home now Please.

G: Well, it's still a nice car, just needs some lights

Honestly, who's raising these kids?

Not that i've driven a Mp3 before, but i might have to disagree with some of the comments you mentioned about the Mp3 and MSP comparison. I personally, find the suspenion rough over uneven pavement at slow speeds. Brakes aren't all that wonderful. Maybe it's just because they are so new in your car that it's performing at it's best. The feel of the brake pedal is very 'normal', there's nothing special about the pedal feel. Although, i do know that the stopping distance in comparison to my previous '93 civic stops a lot shorter. I am positive that our Speed's steering wheel is leather wrapped. I remember reading that in the brochures somewhere. The look of our speed's seats is much better looking then a Mp3. With the improvement of the colour stiching and 'box' pattern inserts, why would you say that the Mp3 is better?
I still think the MS has a better clearity for sound system. Sure, there's no comparison in bass because of a 10" & 6 x 9's vs 8". It all depends on how you like your music.

I was comparing the mp3 to the 2003.5, and if you haven't driven an mp3, then you can't really comment on it can u?

Peddle feel is simply a preference thing. I felt my feet would slip off the sparco's, while the MAzdaspeeds, my feet are glued to it. Different size/shaped foot, different opinions. I like the seats better in the mp3 over the 2003 and 2003.5. Another "opinion" and unless your deaf, the MP3's stereo is way better then the MSP, there's just no comparison. The head unit is nowhere near as good in msp. The flip over thing is just a gimmick. Other then that, the processor powering it is too slow, which is evident by how choppy and delayed the graphics are on it, and the buttons feel cheap. The lack of buttons piss me off as well. There are also more options on the z828 which I care not to list right now...damn work, I'm too busy.
