so wait, if i wanted to ask a question to people that have guages ON THEIR MSP where would i post my question (please consider i have done a search which yielded jack squat)?

what about a question about guages in general, such as: "Where do i put the oil temp sensor?" or "how do i route wires from the pillar to the egt sensor?" where do i put those questions. or better yet "what are the best guages?" where do i put that?

Where ever you feel it fits the best after using you brain. The problem is to many refuse to do tht so it all ends up in the MSP section. No one will go nuts cleaning a thread if a few are mis placed. No one cares. the problem comes when damn near all of the threads are misplaced.

that being said, why are gauges in an MSP different then any other 3rd gen protege, same interior.
If you have an appearance questions on the guage, example do they look goo dor where do they look good, then Appearance it is.
If its whcih guages are best then Go by perfomance for Fi if it is a specific turbo guage.That gauge is the same for any car.

Oil temp sensor placement I wouldn't squint at being in the MSP section for a second. It mgiht get moved but so what. Obviusly we can't expect everyone to know the specifics of the MSP compared to other cars to know wher to put some things. Notice SOME things. It may be replaced but that is in everyones interest.

and if you cant handle this msp section like it is, then it must take ALL your energy and coordination to work the gas/brake while negotiating turns......you poor thing.

Slug I agree, the specific intention and informatin sought with a post has to be taken into consideration before moving something. However:

1) what if im looking for info on what wheels clear the MSP calipers?
Brakes could be different, certainly an acceptable thought, I won't move it. The Wheel section will give you the info you want but Hopefully the MSP section will answer quicker.

2) or info on matching the spicy orange color?
That is hardly something only an MSP owner can comment on, Move to appearance.

3) or info about hesitation?
I don't thik anyone would move that.

4) or info about my msp kenwood system being replaced under warranty?
As it is a warrenty and not audio question, i would leave it.

5) or info about my OEM alarm malfunctioning
Definitly gets moved. Oh and this one was answered several times int eh audio section by NON MSP owners. If th ename of the product is not on the device only an installer will be able to recognize it. The Average MSp owner will have no clue that the original manufacturer isn't MAzda.

wtf would a p5 owner care about what rims will fit over the calipers on a MSP? why would a ES owner care? they wouldnt, so why would i post such a question in a forum for owners of all these cars?

They woun't care becuase they are owner of different car but since they are in that area they will liekly have the info you need.

By this rational all Turbo MSP question should stay in the MSP sectionbecuase Spoolin, Perf, Micah, And Keith won't answer them becuase they won't care. Thats total BS and ou know it.

By my rational, all discussions pertaining to the mazdaspeed go in the mazdaspeed forum. If someone wants better response about a FI technical question, they can post it in the FI section, no need to move threads. Questions about aftermarket turbo systems for the MSP could go in the FI section because this topic is more related to forced induction on proteges in general than it is to the MSP, but once again, dont move s***. Let someone find that they can get a better response elsewhere, and move it themselves.

just like I kept my discussions of my aftermarket stereo to the car audio section, I think its pretty obvious that discussions of aftermarket turbos would go in the FI section. These are broad areas with high levels of technical expertise required. When I wanted to know about fitment of my spool springs with 18s, this clearly did not have any more to do with a MSP than it did with a p5. so i posted in the wheels section. But there is no reason to move a thread about MSP wheel weights out of the MSP section. For that matter if I want to post a thread in the MSP section requesting pics of MSPs with rims on them, LEAVE IT BE. I want my post to be seen by all MSP owners, not just by whoever happens to check the photo section or the rims section.

if you mods really want to help, then when you see a misguided thread simply put "you could get a better resopnse in the FI section" or whatever.

you are spending more time and effort to change board so that everyone else will have to spend more time and effort to use the board

by leaving this crap in its respective part of the board you make searches easier because in the mazdaspeed section, EVERY SEARCH has an implied "mazdaspeed, msp, mps, speed" in it, same for the mp3 section etc.......

if I am on a mac, and want to download a program, and I go to search download.com for a program, i search for the program I want in the MAC section, becaue I dont care if the program I want exists on any other platform, and quite frankly I dont want to sort through 39208 results 39000 of which are NOT for a Mac. Its the same thing here.

When I go to tirerack, I enter the kind of car I have and I see all the wheels that relate to it. I dont search for all 5 spoke wheels and than rummage through the broad range of results for wheels that might fit my car.

Yes you all know I feel most of that started with the immaturity and selfishness of many MSP owners. I wouldn't attemp to hide that. Hoever the mass assimalation of all owners into one group can not be productive.

I have an Idea!
Its a bit odd but stick with me.
We have an all enclusive 3rd gen section Including MSP AND a seperate General MSp section.

The Combined 3rd gen Section will be maintained and organized as its mods desired.

The General MSP section will not have one thread moved, one, wrong thread call. No intervention. Post any damn thing you like.

To say the MSP isn't atleast 1 and ahalf times as popular as any other section is BS. It is. Why not have to areas for it.

Its not an ideal but maybe the only compromise.Also I am not screwing around. If many people want it that way I would back it 100%
