I know there is a few companies out there that say they are coming out with hard piping in a short while(spool,Ion perf.),but,if I could offer you guys a "NICE" hard pipe kit for the MSP shipped to your door within 2 weeks, who would be down?
If I see enough interest by monday the 14th ,then I will continue on with what I am building.
Alright ,here is a little info on what I propose.
The last few days ,my fabricator and I have been working on hard piping for my MSP and tossing around the idea of making more than just one kit for me.
The kit would consist of 2.5" aluminum mandrel bent piping that is powder coated ,has all silicone hosing for the connections, and, all the required clamps and hardware for installation.
If there are at least a few of you guys who want this, then I WILL BUILD and SHIP this to you.
For those of you who know how much it takes to get all this work done, you will appreciate what I am doing.
We were thinking of doing a run of 5 initial orders for the piping.
Some of the parts we are using are very expensive on their own.
If you have ever tried to have powdercoating done, you know its not cheap. If you have ever bought "TRUE" silicone hose, you know it's not cheap.
I don't do anything that I wouldn't run on my own car,and being a proven show winner,I won't use anything that doesn't perform well and look good at the same time.
Now,here comes the next question?
If I do build these, what color powdercoating would you guys prefer?
You will have three choices, but I will only do all of the first run in one color.Color choices would be gloss black,a gloss silver which closely resembles the color of our strut bar ,or a darker gunmetal color called black chrome.I would like to see who likes what color.
I would also need to know what color you would like the silicone connectors in.Once again, you have three colors to choose from. Also ,once again,I will only do one of these three colors for the initial run.The colors are Red,Blue,Or traditional black.
I will tell you that I lean heavily toward the silver or gunmetal piping W/ the black connectors(with the red coming in a close second on either color)I don't personally see a reason to ever even consider the blue connector's(except for the 03.5 blue MSP)
I would like your input as soon as possible,as we are working on this right now,and I need to know whether or not to build more while we are doing mine.
These pipes will fit all stock configurations as well as the MSP's with the Injen Intake. It will be made to fit the stock BPV on the initial run, so as not to create confusion on custom orders with different BOV flanging. If we continue to build these and you guys would like a different BOV flange instead of the stock style ,we will work that out.
Please tell me what you think?
I am very serious about this, unlike many that throw out ideas and never follow through.
The more input you give the better and smoother this will go.
"One Reminder:If I build these ,they will be done and out the door in under 14 days!I am not INJEN!Almost done, almost done,etc...)
The cost on this piping would be around $300.As I said before, the powdercoating and silicone hoses make up most of the cost of this item.
Let me know guys,Matt
