Hey, has anyone had a problem with their MP3 player? Driving along 495, my LCD screen just went blank as I was changing the radio channel. Now it just keeps opening up (just as if you wanted to put a CD in) and stays that way. I'm taking it to the dealership tomorrow and getting the oil changed. Any input would help.

Also, recommended oil change is 3750. I've been used to every 3k, do you guys normally change in the same general area or more or less? I was thinking about changing it to synthetic so I don't have to bother with the oil for a very long time.

Holla Holla.

Hey

Don't bother taking it to the dealership.

Mine had the same problem. I just reset the radio and it fixed the problem. (the reset is the little white button on the face that you'll need to press with a pen or paperclip. Check your instruction manual for details.

The manual says between 5 and 7 thousand. If you switch to sythetic your oil will last MUCH longer than 3k -- probably more like 7 to 10k. The problem is really Mazda's damn filter being the size of a baseball. The thing is so small that I don't feel safe going much over 3 to 5k on an oil change. If you step up to a bigger filter then you should be able to go past 5k with no worries.

Yup, just returned from the dealership.........started 8am but just finished at 12........you guys wonder why? Here's the break down of my bad day for my first MSP oil change.

8am
Oil change and MP3 player check-up.
-----they just reseted the battery to fix it.

9am
headed home, but something smelled like oil. As I got home I open my engine and guess what, some dumb dolt forgot to put the oil cap back on my engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10ish
Head manager drives all the way back to cap my engine and I had to follow him back to the dealership to clean my engine off.

1130ish
Started to head back home when my damn MP3 player blanks out again so I drive back. They told me they have to reorder a new radio and replace my stock one. Supposedly 4 other MSP had the same problem and the dealership replaced their system too. I dunno if pressing the white button would solve the problem permanently so I'm just gonna wait for the replacement next week.

That's my lovely day at the Mazda Dealership. If you guys want to know it's Brown's Fairfax Mazda.

As I waited there, I admired all the RX8 on display.

on my radio in my Mp3 the volume button keeps getting stuck, what can i do to fix this? Every time i hit a bump the volume will shoot straigt up. Or sometimes it would just do it randomly.

Oh I'd definitely try it. I've got a week till the part comes in. Replacing it just makes me sleep better at night. It's just a pain to keep on setting up the stations over and over again if it decides to happen again a few months down the line. Thanks for the help.
