Mazdaspeed 6 for fam?

I think it would be a great family car. Especially if you want a nice AWD machine for the winter. Put a good set of snows on and you'll be in great shape. My GF learned how to drive stick on my car and now she likes it and is totally comfortable with it.

Honestly for your needs I'd say you can't really go wrong with this or the LGT (I know, blasphemy!). Obviously I prefer the Speed6, but if it's meant to be a good safe car for her and your son, that Subaru is no slouch in the white stuff either.

i think if u dont hurry up and get it i think someone elso will.

Well, its not like I'm in a super rush to go buy and buy one before I know the market a little better. And I don't really like paying sticker price at a dealer cause I know they jacked up the price. I work at a dealership and we make most of our money off the used cars we sell. Thats when you have to work your magic!

Great choice but I think you're going to want to drive it more than your si! This is my daily drive and I have a rear-facing child seat for me 11-month old baby girl. Yes, clutch is tricky but you get used to it within the first week (assuming she's good at driving standard already). Lot's of trunk space and the AWD drive and traction control is great in the snow. I drive it in Toronto Canada and have the same winter issues you do.

Check how it feels idling. If it's shaky, get a compression test done on the car. If there is low compression, walk away. I have this issue right now and just waiting for Mazda to hopefully approve a new engine. Other than that, I love the car!

how much of a down payment you have? cause i mean you can go in there tell them you want this and say if you can get it all under this much for me ill buy it today having a 2-3thousand dollar downpayment also helps you cause money talks and thats all they want

i think that is too much for the car. On Feb 3rd, i purchased a 06 MS6 with 34,500 cloth/no nav for 14,900 at a dealer. not white and no leather but also 5k less. shop around but a great car.

Thats a great price! I just bought mine 3 days ago and paid $18900 and it had 34,290 miles. However mine does have leather, sat, and ipod connection. I probably overpaid by a couple thousand....but they need to make money. They also gave me a 7 year or 100k mile warrantee on the powertrain.

i purchased it at a dealership in MT Airy MD I got lucky. i would have liked the things you have like the leather etc but i rather save the $$ The car was a trade in and the wanted to "get rid" of it

Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to go maybe after work tomorrow to check it out. I work alot, go to school full time and have a 3 month yr at home. So life is pretty busy. But I appreciate your help and input guys. I will pay attention to it if its shaky, How shakey do you mean?

Yeah I'm thinking of considerating a sport model just because its that much cheaper. Theres a private seller pretty local, hes selling a sport with 38k miles for 14.5. Waiting for him to respond so I can go to check it out.

I can do a 10-12k down payment. And then probably a loan for the rest. I wonder if that will work.

Do you guys know in general how much taxes and registration and all that extra crap cost? I will probably say if they can get me out the door for X amount then I will buy it. I wanna take into consideration how much that extra stuff cost.

I wish I could have found mine in that color. Would not have found the same deal though.

to be honest go down and try and get the white one and tell them if you give me this price i will buy it today lol and they will work with ya i would say you have like 4grand to spend to put down but if they are willing to go down more on the car tell them your willing to put more down

I'm going to go down on Tuesday. Probably going to bring some "the folder" and do some talking. If they can get me out the door at high 18k or low 19k, then I'l buy it. I mean it can't have any mechanical issues either. I'l test drive it spiritedly and see if it has that smoking issue talk about. I want to know what other issues I should look out for thats normal with the speed6. And I'm going to ask for a maintenence record and stuff.
