MAP sensor?

I have not been able to find the map sensor on my wiring diagrams. Do we have one? Is it called the MAP sensor or something else?

We have a MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor...it's the semi-large black box that fits into the intake track, with the stock setup its sits right on top of the air box and has what looks like a 25 pin LPT port connector that attaches to it.

as far as i know we don't have a mapp sensor. Typically you either have a MAF or a MAPP not both. What are you trying to tie into the mapp.

MAF or a MAPP not both.

I may not be correct but, I know that my probe has map sensor and is vein air flow meter. Also I thought that the maf can only monitor up to so much, When you are running on on full throttle isnt their a Mapped out fuel for full throttle which I runns of off manifold pressure. Good info on this fyi is a book called Ford Fuel Injection it has ford systems and mazda sytems, explains about fuel, air flow sytems( ven. maf, map, etc.). Also has pin diagrams for F2 klze, ford engines etc., now that I think of it It might have Fs in their too, I am going to check forgot all about that.

When someone talks about mapping out the fuel, they're talking about the graphical maps that the ecu or pcm uses to determine the amount of fuel to use. You're right that it will use manifold pressure on some vehicles, but on ours it uses the combination of the mass air sensor and the throttle position sensor as the main load determinors. BTW: MAPP actually stands for Manifold Absolute Positve Pressure...i always used to get my D*** knocked in the dirt for getting that one wrong so....

Actually we do have a MAP sensor as well it is called a Boost Sensor on diagrams though. The easiest way to find it is to look at your vacuum diagram on the top of your hood. It is located in teh passengers corner of the engine bay.

From what I have seen the "boost sensor" is part of the EGR system. I don't think it monitors manifold pressure, but the pressure coming from the EGR tube?

I may be wrong though.

Actually it measures pressure off the manifold this is what i had my Boost gauge connected to last time. The nipple that the vaccum line for it is placed at the same point as the Cruise control pretty much.
