JIC's should fit, right? Then how come . . .

O.K., I hope someone can help or at least make me feel stupid. Here's the problem. . . got the JIC FLT-A2's, put them on (rears), and they rub the factory racing harts. The tires hit. I put 3/16' spacers on, and they still rubbed. Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else had this complication? Is there any way I have them on the wrong sides? Please please help. This set-up is very expensive and I want to use it.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you,

(I hope that's enough ass kissing)

wait...wait...

what rubs?

you might have to switch them, or you did something wrong.

i don't have a msp, so don't quote me on this, but they fit on my p5 just fine. in fact, i've already put on a set of 17x7.5 wheels to test how the new ones i'm getting will fit ok, and they don't rub at all.

something is messed up.

Damn, I've never heard of that happening...

Any chance you can take some pics for us?? I've got the Tein coilovers, which may not be of much help, but I've done plenty of suspension swapping to might be able to help you.

is the tire hitting the fender? or is the tire hitting the coilover itself?

if its hitting the fender...raise it up. ;)

since they are JIC's check the lower bolt "slot" since they do have camber adjustment, though I STILL dont think its enough to make it hit the actual shock tube

its not, trust me. i've had it at full cambre on the rear, and its not enough. still rides fine, and doesn't touch.

then maybe he has some seriously fux0red lateral links... I cant htink of anything else, other than a seriously faulty install... and I'm not crazy, I've had 3 different suspensions under my car... now I have the Tein SS'

the only way i could see there being a problem with the jic's and this mystery rubbing is if he had the front's on the rear.

but thats really hard to **** up, because the cambre plate is on the top of the fronts.

i'm totally perplexed.

yeah, not to mention the bolt pattern is TOTALLY different...

hy, OCD, the studs ARE through the holes in the strut towers right?

i just looked at some pics, and did some thinking...

if you have the left and right rears switched, it'll definitely stick out at a weird angle, and i think the bolt-hole that the endlink goes through will rub.

i think...if i'm picturing it correctly in my head.

It is weird. It's the inner rear tires rubbing against the strut body. I am pretty sure the R/L sides are correct. I am so stupified. It must be something I am doing wrong. These are the JIC FLT-A2's not the A1's. I don't know if that makes a difference. JIC told me there must be something wrong with the offset on the rim. I was thinking they have the pillow mounts switched from R to L from the factory. I will take a closer inspection today.

Thanks for all the imput y'all. Good look.

(2thumbs)

i'm guessing its still you have the rear left / right mixed up. but, if like you said, the pillow mounts were reversed or spun around differently, then it might be a problem.

take some pics so we can diagnose this better. we're working on really vague descriptions here.

I had the left and rights switched on my gtx's coilovers and they rubbed also.
Try swapping them and see what happens.

I don't really have the time right now to try the switch technique. I've examined them pretty good and having the R/L sides interchanged looks like it will cause no difference. I have the one marked "RL" on the passenger rear. I never took it further than that-it rubbed, just put stock back on. The inner tire rubbed against the height adjustment collar. The other rear strut is marked "RH". Is that suppose to be the "passanger rear"? They look identical to me with exception of the link/brake line bracket. I'm still fumbling. This sucks. Am I a dunce?

Help me or shoot me.

Oh, . . what's a lower bolt "slot"? Without a camber bolt, how does this have any effect on camber/position?

WAIT! I have the JIC-FLTA-2 as well. My racing harts also rubbed because my car is slammed, still is. I ended up having to put a 1/4 inch spacer to stop it. It is actually the tire rubbing on the red collar adjuster. (thats what it was for me) I put in a spacer at the time, and now I have different wheels with a lower offset. I told people that my stock wheels rubbed an noone believed me. HAHAHA. The only way the stock wheels rub is if you drop the car low, and I mean lower than the GC's can go. Thats how my car is.

You hvae three choices:1. Use a spacer for the RH wheel
2. Buy wheels with a lower offset( this will cause the wheel to stick out further, which may cause you to have to roll the fender like I did, not as hard as it sounds)
3. Don't drop that biatch so damn low!

jeezes christ...you must have that thing on the ******* ground then. thats over a 2.5" drop.

insane!

the rh and fh are rear right and front right, respectively. must be the translation from japanese to english, i'm assuming.

on the jic's, the cambre adjustment bolt is the lower one, instead of the upper, like on the stock and other suspension systems.

the fronts have the cambre plate at the top, and the same slotted bolt on the lower bracket.
