Is this crazy?

:
MSP & MS3
So I bought my Orange '03 in April for around 19 grand. I put down 3 grand and my monthly payments are exactly $299. After seeing the Titanium in person... I don't know! It kind've caught my eye. I still LOVE the Orange... but, in my area, the Titanium migh be a better fit. Now, if I wasn't hearing people from around the country scoring these rides for like 17 and change I wouldn't even consider this... but, with that being the case, maybe there wouldn't be quite so much "pain". In other words... if I were to trade in my car (for what would be an obsenely low price) and get a new Titanium for around 17 or so... (with the rebate obviously) maybe.. just maybe my payments wouldn't go up that drastically. I'm not mathmetician (or speller for that matter!) so... if anyone can offer any insight on this, feel free. Don't be shy! If this is the stupidest idea ever conceived by man... let me know! I've done some bonehead things in my life so this wouldn't be the first... or last. (if I did it that is) But, of course, I'd like all your expert oppinons... the dealership I bought mine from has 3, count em, 3 Titaniums in stock.

On a side note... part of me wants to do this just to surpise my wife when she comes home from Spain (ie. piss her off) "Did you get your car painted????" "umm... no. it's new" "WHAT?????!!!!!!!" as she assaults me... only to realize it was a good deal! Ahhh... that would kick ass. alright peeps... latah!!!

Hey, not to get off the subject- but was yours $19 out the door or 19k plus tax and such? What was your interest rate? I paid $20,150 + tax and such, put $4300 down and my payments were $360 for 5 years at 8.25% (they *said* that was the best they could do  ).. Sounds like I got ***** :(.
Joe

with tax and everything else it came out to a little under 20 gz... (like 19,850 or something) it looks like the interest killd you... I got a 2.9% rate from my credit union so that helped... (at 5 years) I wouldn't say you got "*****" though... I mean, to be honest... I would have got like a 10% rate (or more) if it wasn't for my wife. as irresponsible as I was back in the day... she was and still is the exact opposite. (I'm learning though!) so that's what got me the low rate... anywayz, who cares about that when you're pushin over 260hp!! geezus!!! that's freakin sick!! good job

April, 09. I'm 21 with a not so good history of credit, so they ***** me with interest, but at least I have the car. *shrug* Makes me happy, so that's all I care about.

(attn) Hey!! Let's get back to the subject people!!

Sorry :D .. I seem to thread jack a lot- it is one of those "since it was brought up" type of things :)..

As for your deal- do what makes you happy :).. I would go to the dealer and at least "hear them out" on what they will give you for trade and sell you the other car for. I only got $14K for my MSP when I traded it in though :(.
Joe

Yeah man... I was only kidding. (partially at least) starting a thread and seeing it grooooow is cool! by the end of the thread... people are usually talking about something completely different!! anyway... the reason I sort've need advice now is because I set up an appt to get tints in on Sunday. If I end up going this route, that appt is as good as canceled. Anyway... stupid salesguy hasn't called me back. I left him a detailed message (probably a mistake) and since he knows he'd make nothing on a deal like this... he's probably not too motivated. Oh well.. Orange is still sweet! Unless I'm driving through Home Depot and a kid points to my car and says "Look Daddy!! It's the Home Depot car!!" (please tell me I'm not the only one who heard this!!) he's lucky he was only 6!! cuz I woulda beat the...

April 9th? No s***! That's the day I bought my P5. 'Course it was in '02 but still. Freaky s***...

My rate's at 11%, coulda been lower but I didn't want a co-signer. I done it all on my own! :D

wow, u guys did get *****
$305 - 5 years, 4%

titanium is "damn sexy!"
but it's all up to u.........dont forget the foglights :P

foglights are so overated!! who needs em??? it seems like they peaked in the late 90s as far as popularity goes... nowadays, most of the high performance cars either have small fog lights or none at all. (I think Pontiac and Subaru F'ed it up for everyone with their "mine are bigger than yours" fogs)

how much down payment did you put down?? it affects ur monthly payment. and if u bought gap protection and ext warranty.

Its possible i get flamed for this one but I traded in my 2003 VW GTI w/ 2700 miles on it for a titanim MSP that had just gotten off the truck. I like the VW's but the MSP has SO MUCH style. If was a give and get situation (leather, sunroof, etc....but man the MSP is sweet!!!). I got 5.9%..and just refinaced through another bank today for 3.9%! Shop around if you can ... some people are hurtin' for business!

Why would you get flamed for trading in a VW for a MSP? Welcome to the boards, man. Enjoy your car and don't blow it up. :D
