Is it OK to start the car without the airbags?

Its a long story to get into but... Is it ok to start my 02' protege and roll down the drive way without the yellow air bag wires plugged in?

my dash is disassembled and I need to move my car, the steering wheel is locked so I have to start the engine, and I'd feel much safer to know that the air bags won't go off if I accidentally didn't plug a wire all the way in or a ground is missing, as I'm sort of just 'throwing' it together to move it.

Yes. I've driven more than a few miles without it plugged in. Though I wouldn't be connecting/disconnecting it with the ignition on.
