Hello, I am looking for a cord to connect my iPod up to the CD changer port and use it as and AUX port on the back of my 2003 MP5 stock radio. I have been researching with no luck other than buying a system like GROM or another interface product. These tend to run more than I am willing to spend. I would really only use the connector for road trips and it would be nice to have an option other than the stupid FM transmitters that never work well anyways. I know the benefits of having the integrated system but am more than happy to use the controls from my iPod. I have been able to get something similar for my other vehicle but just am unsure if there is a cord for the MP5. I am not a audio nut or anything like that and don't really have the desire to put in a aftermarket deck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont think there's a way to connect the ipod to the stock radio. It's stupid they dont atleast have an aux port on the back. I installed an aftermarket radio, very easy to do and its only 100 bucks or so for one. Prob just worth waiting to get the money to install one of those.

It was a cheap economy car from 2003, there's cars that still don't have an aux port why the hell would a cheap 10 year old car have one?

Op- quit being cheap and buy a new stereo, usually at crutch field if you spend more than $140 it will come with harnes and dash piece

You could try and find a stock stereo that has the tape player and use a tape adapter like I did in my old Sebring. I've been looking for a while tho, so dibs on the first one that pops up. :P

You can solder the aux cable into the CD preamp. When you want to listen to the iPod you need to play a blank CD though.

Here is something to start you off
