Hey,

Here's the situation. I listen to some radio shows online (they are in realaudio format). I want to know if there's any way I can downlaod them and change them to mp3s so that I can put them in my mp3 player?

Thanks (kiss)

the only way you can do it is by capturing the live stream. I've seen it done, but I have never personally done it. You need certain software to do it too.

If it is streaming real audio, I think the only thing you can do is use a recording program and record your wave channel while real player plays the file.

there used to be a program called streambox vcr and streambox ripper. one would grab the real file as it was being played live, or download it from the server, and the other would convert to either wav, aiff, or mp3.

i haven't used it in a while, but the last time i tried, something with the new realaudio format's wouldn't allow it to be converted. i don't know if they finally found a way around it, but last time, it refused to work for me.

i'll try again with another site, but i think all hope might be lost.

but, as stated, if its streaming, and you have a full duplex soundcard, you can record whats coming through your speakers all in one fell swoop.

the only way i know is to have it playing and have a recorder running at the same time, then find a audio file converter to change it to an mp3. try www.tucows.com they should have something that'll work for ya
