Incoming Mustang

I have a '13 Mustang convertible incoming. It's replacing my Civic, so I'll still be lurking and occasionally offending someone.

FYI, our '09 5 is still perfect with almost 40K miles on it. I did notice a belt squeaking while driving 80 MPH in the rain with the A/C on, but that's the only thing "wrong".

Yeah, I know this isn't a Mustang forum, but I probably will be around here more than any Mustang forums, so I've got to show somebody. FYI, this is Grabber Blue, and it's darker and much nicer in person. It's notorious for being impossible to photograph correctly.

We got 29.9 MPG on our first tank of gas. This was mix/country hwy, so I expect quite a bit better on strictly hwy.

We're thrilled.

i would have went with a miata, but the new mustang's are a very nice car.

our 2008 mazda5 squeals the belts in the rain, too. has done it from day 1. since they use an automatic tensioner, not much can be done about it. we are coming up on 60k miles, so i might try to swap it out for a better quality belt to see if it helps.

Nice stang! I see an exact model near me and like it too. I'm a Miata fan but would choose this bc it has back seats (there are no other reasonable 2+2 vert without going into BMW/Audi)! Until the BRZ 'vert shows up that is;)

I've actually considered the Miata several times over the years. This time, my buying criteria included the ability to put my parents in the car to get them out of the house, spend some time with us, and put some big smiles on their faces. Obviously I couldn't do that with the Miata, so I struck it off the list.

We just got back from going to see my parents. We took them on a short road trip a few counties over to my mom's property on the Ohio River. Then we went back to the city and ate outside. They had a great time. And, the car is averaging 31 MPG with less than 1,000 miles on it.

So far, everyone who has ridden in the Mustang has been shocked at how nice it is. My dad drove it and said the engine, transmission, and engine sound with the top down was "thrilling". My parents are in their 70's, so hearing them say they are thrilled is very rewarding for me. It makes me feel really, really good to be able to provide something back to them.

Anyway, thanks for the kind feedback.
