improve engine idle

So I read an article about how to clean the EGR valve and how that can cure a rough idle. I was wondering if there are any modifications or anything else along those lines that can be made to improve the engine idle. (And by idle I mean make it a litle less choppy. I know some would consider a loud rumbling idle "attractive.")

Couldnt hurt to clean the throttle body and MAF sensor, as well. A lot of people suggest holding the gas pedal all the way down while you crank the car to put it in clear flood mode, after throttle body cleaning.

Yeah, I was actually researching that as well. I saw some other forum posts and some videos on youtube that talked about cleaning those things. Thanks for the suggestions.
