So I've been reading that the Torsen style limited slip differential for the MSP is very similar to the Atx open differential. My question is, after reading, is has anybody successfully done it? I've read that it involves machining the speedo gear, as well as a few other modifications...but I can't seem to find what those "Few other modifications" entail. I'm looking at building the Terminator transmission with a Billet input shaft, Lentec Torque Converter, and Lentech Valvebody with the AltoUSA Red Eagle rebuild...which should handle well in excess of 500hp although it will never see anywhere near that. Torque converter and valve body...easy, just contact lentech
Input shaft...hrmm...ford racing used to have them, but I think they've been discontinued. Either TCS or Lentech should have access to them
Red Eagle rebuild...easy, I've already sourced the part numbers.

now for the hard part...sourcing and modifying a LSD...it's so similar to the MTX LSD it's sickening...why couldn't quaife just make a Plug and Play unit...

I've read that the Torsens from the MSP LSD will work with the auto IF the speedo gear is machined in, but the MSP LSD is weak sauce...and will fail past 200hp...question is...is that first time or due to excessive wear and tear from increased HP?

If you have abs you won't need a speedo gear as it reads off the abs sensors.

Btw why build an auto?

I think I've got ABS...

Lots of reasons to build an auto.
1. That automatic transmission knows a little more about shifting than I do. Granted, I can drive a manual, but that goes into my next reason which is...
2. This thing's a daily. Stop and go traffic is brutal...especially on modified automobiles
3. I like my sportshift...it's nice. 4 gears aint so bad, just needs more POWAH
4. There is like a grand total of TWO people that I know of who have built autos.
5. The focus guys with the ATX are running WICKED power numbers through this transmission, with the right upgrades. Like lentec says their tranny will hold 500 horses safely...the focus guys are reliably running it to 650hp. These ATX's are really quite strong, with the Torque Converter and aluminum stator.
6. The ATX has more upgrades than the Manual...so that's more stuff to say I spent money on...don't believe me? Well lets see...Torque converter, Valve Body, AltoUSA Red Eagle Rebuild, Transmission Cooler, Transmission Temp Sending unit and Trans Temp Guage, and Lentec Trans Tune to eliminate shift lag......just makes you giddy thinkin about it.
7. Did I mention there's only like TWO other people that have done it? I'ma be original, while knowing I can hold more power than a manual transmission.

Do not have ABS...locked them up about a week ago in the rain. I say...that was interesting. I haven't locked up brakes in a LOONNGG time.
