It's mounted to the bottom of the TB. You need to remove the throttle body to do any decent attempt at a cleaning. Watch the screws as they're soft (zinc/bronze) and you may end up stripping them.

it does have hex screws but also 4 philip screws on it..use a hammer and a philip screwdriver to give it a few hits to break loose and twist them off(philip screws) if that doesnt work, take the tb off and remove the screws with grips..

thanks jdmdikk

is it faster to just remove the TB completely to get at it?
im sick of this issue lol.
keeps cutting off when i start it up, after about a min or so with my foot on the gas, it revs about 6-700rpm. i was told it was stuck in the "on" position..

can this issue create another problem?
and does anyone know where i may be able to find a cheap new part, or used?
cant find this car in a junk yard, i get laughed at cuz the junk yards claim to almost never get that car towed in.
hopefully this is the one and only issue i will have with it.

depends on your location..i am in CT and found 2 protege sedans and was able to get my throttle bodie from 1 in the junkyard..u can also use the iacv from a 626 and maybe millenia but i am unsure on year..try the hammer thing 1st and then the tb removal but u might have to get a new gasket for the tb

You're thinking of the EGR valve. I IACV sits right in top of the throttle body - it's got a little black solenoid attached with hex head security screws.

Unfortunately, new they cost $300+. You might get lucky by checking salvage yards - also look on eBay.
