As you all know I am installing the J&S Safeguard:

The problem I am having is finding a power source that goes to the "On" (Not Acc or Start) ignition switch that won't fluctuate power when I start the car. You all know how when you start the car, your stereo goes off, and then comes back on? Well I need a power connection that won't blip when I start the car. Can you help me?

but it can't be permanent, like the battery?

I accually have the power hooked up to pin #4 on the ECU, but I found out that is a constant 12 VDC. It works, but it doesn't turn off. I want the unit to be hooked to the ignition switch so that it turns on when you put the key in the "ON" postion, and then when you start the car, the power doesn't go out. I tried hooking it up somewhere else, but I can't start the car due to the power diping on starts.

theonly thing i can think of is using the constant 12 with a toggle switch..and you could just throw it on when you jump in your car...besides that I really cant figure out hat source you could use to get what the type of power output you want...I'll keep thinking

Yeah, I had thought about doing this. I may go and get one of the factory Fog light push button switches and replace the psudo button on the driver's side.

Suggestions still open at this point. Thanks! Anyone else?

Use the fuse panel.
You can buy a funky fuse jumper that has a wire coming out of it that you can then wire into.
I did this in my Honda for some Rally Lights on it.
That way they would only work when the car was on.

The fuse jumper will expand the slot and you will always have to use one from then one.

Linux go to the column and use the ignition wire. Ignition does not drop out when you crank. Check my sticky on remote starters for the wire color.

Yeah, it's the Black Wire with the Blue stripe right? Shawn (Chojin) already told me to use that wire, but you just expanded on why I should. (thumb)

Thanks guys!

According to the DEI cut sheet that is the starter wire and only has power WHILE you are starting the car, then it goes dead.
