How to get live traffic on the sat nav?

Does anyone know how to get live traffic / traffic flow to show on the sat nav? It shows in the manual and I’ve followed the instructions, but nothing happens…Help…Thanks!

I assume you mean the RDS/TMC traffic information that is transmitted via FM or DAB+ radio stations.
Not in all countries this signal is transmitted and in some countries it's a paid subscription. In the Netherlands it is free and works perfectly.

Thanks hsdejong. I already the RDS/TMC traffic information. This more, showing slow moving traffic, standing traffic etc on the Sat Nav as a red line or green line if free flowing.
My previous Mercedes had it, and it is shown in the Sat Nav manual in the UK

I have the latest infotainment system (Mazda Connect, not Mazda MZD Connect).
The roads with traffic problems received by the TMC are colored and extra icons are displayed on the nav map.

From the manual:
Press the commander knob with the map screen open to display the
menu, and select “Traffic Settings” from “Navigation Settings”.
2. Set either “Flow and Icons”, “Flows Only”, or “Icons Only” in “Show
Traffic Information”.
Road segments affected by traffic events are displayed with an alternate
colour on the map, and small symbols above the road show the nature of the
event.

You can check the list of received road event at:
Press the commander knob with the map screen open to display the
menu and select “Traffic” from “Travel Information”. The Traffic Event list
is displayed.

All the functions of the navigation system in my car work as described above.
I remember from both my CX-3 that this also worked in the same way in the older nav system.

Thanks, I have set all those set as per your list and the manual and there is no change. Nothing is being displayed except the basic sat nav and route guidance.

Do you have traffic events in the “Travel Information -> Traffic” list?

Yes they are all there and selected

If you look at one of the listed traffic event locations on the map, you should see icons indicating the traffic event and colored lines next to the road.

The traffic information is listed in traffic information but not showing on the map. Attached is a picture of traffic settings in the sat nav

You have to pay. On the US models its through Sirius traffic subscription.

@MG1066, you have a CX-50 in the UK? Is it an imported US model?

Doubt there are CX-50 in Europe. I think Op refers to the US navi that has a setting in the infotainment called traffic but that's not where live traffic comes from. Live traffic is only through siriusxm su subscription as far as I know.

Maybe so, but I was basing my comment on:

But he hasn't been back in over a month, so I guess we'll never know. (And apparently the issue wasn't that important to him anyway!)
