hey, nice forum name...that is very similar to my soon-to-be liscense plate, "1FSTMP5"

Haha.

As for the O2 sensor, I have no idea man. Sorry!

From my understanding the 02 sensor is just there for emission purposes, so unless you're worried that you're cheating emission laws I don't think it's harmful to just have it out. The only thing that sucks is that having a constant CEL will keep you in the dark if anything else happens that you should know about.

Since you removed the first cat I will send you to this thread of mine about 02 sensor placement without the first cat:

I was looking for an answer to the CEL you get from removing the first cat so I found these guys, PEP
http://www.ponyexpressperformance.com/products.html

If you read my thread there's a little more info, but basically they make an MIL eliminator, which is something you splice somewhere in your 2nd 02 sensor wire and gets rid of the CEL. I emailed one of their guys and he said that we should be able to use their WRX eliminator and that if any of us Proteges would like to try, to get in touch with them and if didn't work they'd give a full refund, but if it does they'll make a Protege specific product for the future. It's $20.95 shipped.

Anyway, I was hoping for someone to step up and try it out to see if it works. Since your wires are already cut you're already halfway there:D

Let me know what you think, I'm curious about this product, and no, I don't work for PEP:rolleyes:
