(bang)I am installing Joe's MBC and the stock vacuum line that goes from the MBC to the wastegate on the turbo is spliting everytime I try to install it on the MBC. That line is harder than the others and I have had to trim it twice already to remove the splits. I am using some WD40 to try to ease the line on the MBC but the nipple on the MBC seems bigger than the line diameter. I can't just replace the line because the other end at the wastegate has the factory crimp and if I remove it, it may void the warranty.

What did you guys do??? I can't contact Joe because he is moving and does not have internet access for a week.

Help is needed ASAP. I have an autocross tommorrow and need to get the car running tonight.

Thanks guys

I did the same thing tonight. I just repaced the hoses and kept the part of the hose with the crimp on it. Once I get some needle nose pliers, I'll try to take the crimp off and place it on the new hose.

Use 3/16 rubber hose, by the way.

ok, i installed mine yesterday
cut off all of the splitting line..........
get a 1/8 pass-through fitting (coupler)
stick it into the hard hose, and then connect a piece of a softer hose (3/16 hose)(about an inch long) to the other end ...........
plug the MBC into the softer hose

that's it..............i dont think there is a way to plug the MBC directly into the hard hose, it's too small and doesnt stretch.

Just replace the hoses until you go in for work. The hoses on there were TOO hard for my comfort. I can just see them cracking on a trip...

Thanks guys,
I thought I was going crazy or something. The only thing that sucks is that nothing is open tonight to get the f@#king adapter to make it work.
T3ase, how did you replace the whole hose? did you have to mess with the crimp?

I just got some pliers & pulled the whole stock hose off and left the crimp in tact.

I'll get back in there tomorrow and see if I can get that crimp back on the new tubing.

i dont think there is a need to change the hose...........the whole reason they used fuel lines (hard rubber) is because it's very close to the engine and turbo where the temperatures are very high.
just replace the upper piece, and make sure to cover it with that rubber-foam cover that is on the original hose.

Mine has the factory crimp holding an elbow to the waste gate. After the elbow there is a pass through inline adapter. I had the same problem with the hose being to stiff and it split so many times that now it is to short to get back to where it should be. Tomorrow I will be removing the MBC for some warranty work, and I will just remove the stiff hose at the inline piece near the elbow and replace it with a softer one. That way when I put the MBC back on there will be no problem. I dont see any need to remove the crimp fitting or elbow at all in order to replace the hose. I will still use the same rubber line cover that was on it to begin with. Just my $0.02
