GTSPEC parts installed on MSP (not 56k friendly)

I did the same thing.

For those running the V-Brace system... I had a slight clearance issue with those two bars making contact with the OE swaybar. I brought this up to GT Spec and they had not had a report of this before.

When the car is in the air (as it would need to be to install those bars) the sway bar has plenty of room. So when it's lowered back down the clearance is different. Something you usually wouldn't think to check. I have added some spacers to eliminate the issue.

Just a heads up.

I have updated pictures (since I posted www.studiosp.net/gtspec) if anyone wants to see more specific areas of these bars....

Here's somthing I just thought of!!
Does anyone have this combo:

Protege 5
Stock rear sub-frame
Racing Beat or ARW Sway Bar
AWR Adj. End Links
GT Spec Rear V Brace

My thought is that the bar is spaced from the rear sub frame because of the adapters you need.
ie:

I don't think there would even be any room for the V Braces if they are hitting on the MSP.????

Any opinions??

I'm confused why anyone would not have the stock rear subframe.

There already is a clearnace issue, so putting the swaybar any lower would only increase the issue.

What part are you calling the subframe? I'm confused why anyone would not have the stock rear subframe.

Some have replace the P5 sub frame with the MSP or MP3

I wonder if GT Spec knows this?

I brought my clearance issue to their attention already. It had not been reported before.

They are intending for these bars to work on a stock car. It's not really feasible for companies to test all their products with everyone else's on the market, ya know?

true ... true...

quick question... what size are the bolts/nutz that connect to the v-brace? i installed these and only found 4 12mm size bolts/nuts... when i put them on i had to use washers because they were too small to go onto the brace. i looked at some pictures and it looks like you guys are using bigger botls/nuts with it. i also dont have any left over bolts/nuts for the trailing arm brake line bracket. i think i may have put the trailing arm bolts onto the v-brace set up. any thoughts?

thanks

Sorry, I just saw this thread now. I'm not sure about the size of the bolts. Did you contact the vendor who sold it to you? Or you could call Gt Spex directly at (718) 888-1139
