fmic problem

Just got my fmic installed with problem. Car jerks/chokes at at 5psi (stock boost at 7psi). The clamps are all tight. Is it because my bov and maf are too close to each other? My bov (VTA) is connected to a 45 elbow on one end and the other is the maf sensor. I also have the pointy air sensor dangling, but I've had it dangling before with no problem. Maf sensor is after the bov (closest to T.B.). I hear the bov blowing off, but theres some surge before blowing off. So it surges then blow off. What should i do?

P.S.

Im using turbo Xs Type H bov. I don't think its recirculated. The top niple is connected to a vacuum source.

no i have not. In fact, i just read about adjusting it. Will adjusting the stiffness help with everything?

Your air sensor ( which its called a IAT = Intake Air Sensor ) that is dangling should be put in your intake pipe just before or after the filter. I have mine in the filter... That will make a difference in drivability because your not picking up the right temp. your ecm is adjusting for... so that could be part of it.

The IAT sensor isn't vital, I have had mine secured away out of the pipe for a while now with no problems. The only accurate IAT reading would be in the cold pipe and the sensor won't stay in the pipe under boost.
I'm sure if you adjust the Type H it will work fine for you.

yeahh I will have pix up as soon as i can. Its too dark outside. I took out 1 spacer in the type H, its doing the same thing. I can play wit it more, but I wont be able to drive it until late this week. The belt is sorta rubbing on the hot pipe (bad). My buddy and I won't be able to get to it until this friday. We'll have to adjust the fmic position.

What usually cause this problem tho?

If your maf is in backwards it will def make ur car run really bad. If its surging maybe go softer but i would try both. i been running my I.a.t disconnected for a while now and it dosent seem to cause any problems. You could also check and see if one of your couplers has a tear in it even if your clamps are tight it could still have a leak. And whats your boost reading at?

it reading 5psi at the max. Anything beyond that point chokes the car. It jerks and wouldn't go faster. What is the correct way to put the MAF? Which side should the plug face?

There is an arrow on the side of the MAF, it indicates the direction of air flow so it should be pointing towards the TB.

From the looks of everyone's set up in the "MAF relocation thread", I definitely have mines backwards lol. Hopefully this will cure the problem.
