Fired!!!

ok, these pricks waited til 4:30 to fire me first off...

now, to the story:
the housing authority came to inspect some vacant apartments for people to move into last week.(stupid section8)
some apartments failed the inspection because of stupid s***, we didnt have time to correct minor problems with just two of us working there...
skip to this week...

we find out that since they couldn't move in, the company loses money...today i am called to a "meeting"...and told that i am "incompetant and unable to perform my tasks", and told that i am to IMEDIATELY hand over my keys, and pager...

i also have 30 days to vacate my apartment(free apt for working here)

so, now im s.o.l., and on top of it all, my girl is expecting in july,. and she has already quit her regular jobbie job(she got a p.t. job)...PLUS my frickin mom lives with us, and is ALSO unemployeed.

Actually you don't have to worry about your employer telling other companies that you were fired. the only thing they can do is verify your dates of employment and tell wether or not you are eligable for re-hire. It is illegal for them to divulge any information regarding why you are not eligable for re-hire. Good Luck man, Im sure you'll find something.

most places/managers will NOT call your previous job to find out how you did.

pro5foote is correct in that your former employer can give out no information only if they would rehire you.

You may still want to file for unemployement.

I'm a manager store manager for Brooks Brothers out here in Cali and I always get the other information that we're not supposed to be able to get. It all depends on the company and who I'm speaking to. Honestly, if the person I'm calling about is a complete loser, usually the employer I'm caling will let me know.

Sorry to hear that dude. Like others have posted, see if you can file for unemployment and ask if they'll let you stay until you can find another job, even if it means you have to pay rent until then. If they've got half a heart they might say yes. Doesn't hurt to ask...

And if they find a replacement in a hurry, why don't you find out who the new guy is and find out where he came from, you know, trade places with him maybe.

Step 2 - Have your mom get a job (assuming she'sable to work)
Step 3 - Sell your body on the corner on the side
Step 4 - Try to have your girl do some sort of work from home that will help with income a little.

Hey man I live in a townhouse complex and we have mantinace guys too that I think have the same sort of deal... It takes forever for them to respond and fix anything so I think they need some help.

If you want to try it is Holly Station Townhomes in Waldorf MD and there is like 900 houses and only 5-10 guys so I think they need some help.

I dont have the number on me right now but it should be easy to find. It is off of Holly Tree Dr. or Road or Ave whatever...
