Yes, it would be a "front end" replacement. You'd also need (unless you chose to replace it, which I would) the radiator. All powertrain components would need to be changed. However with an engine replacement, it's the perfect time to upgrade. The first change I would make would be the quaiffe LS or locking differential, good motor mounts, aluminum radiator, more powerful fuel pump, and replacement of the lower transverse beam.
