ECU Flash and hesitation

I'm a new MSP owner (had a MKIV Supra and sold it), and I've been reading most of the threads the past 3 days since picking up my car, and I just have a quick noob questions.

So far, I've been reading a lot about acceleration hesitation and that Mazdaspeed is coming out with an ECU flash to fix this problem (well, this is pretty much what I got from all this reading). So my question is, how would I know that the flash is available, and where would I be able to get it? I'm stilll breaking in my engine, and I haven't experienced this hesitation, or even know if my car has it, but i figure I should get the flash. Thanks.

check with your dealer, not sure what the file number is but check the ecu update thread to get to give to your dealer, or see if your dealer is on the list PH made.

I would suggest you check with the dealer that you bought the Speed from. They should know what is going on. The file name is: QOAP4CO and it is called a "Reflash". Hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks guys, that helps out a lot. I've been reading more threads about the ECU flash and it seems like if you want to tune the msp with more boost, or if you're going to be adding any aftermarket parts, the flash isn't such a good idea, as it is more beneficial to those keeping their cars in stock form. So I'm stil debating whether I want to go in and get it done.

Do the 2003.5 MSPs need flash, or is it only needed for 03 models?
