I think it's Mazda's way of freeing them from any liability of you being involved in an accident while you are driving and messing around with the navigation system. I've noticed some of the options don't work unless you are at a dead stop.

I Int3grity Member : 07 Cx-7 Liquid Platinum Mar 18, 2007 #3 try looking into getting a pac tr-7 this is the device I use for my alpine motorized head unit it mimics parking brake etc.. so it by-passes all that because on alpine is the same thing you have to be parked to use features and dvd player
