WENT TO MAZDA TODAY THEY CHECKED MY FRONT WINDSHEILD OUT IT IS A STRESS MARK CRACK. I ALSO LET THE SERVICE DIRECTER KNOW ABOUT ALL THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR THE STUMBLE, HESITATION ISSUSE HE SAID HE HAS SEEN ALL THESE PROBLEMS ON THIS WEB SITE. HE SAID HE HAS PRINTED MOST THE OF ISSUES OUT AND IS GOING TO REIGIONAL MEETING NEXT WEEK AND WILL PRESENT IT TO THEM. ALSO TOLD HIM ABOUT THE CLUNKING SOUND IN THE REAR END I HAVE. THE RADIO PROBLEM, AND I DID TELL HIM ABOUT MY MODS ON MY CAR. I SAID THE HESITATION ISSUSE HAS IMPROVED FROM MY MODS I DID SAY THE CAR RUNS BETTER UNDER MORE BOOST THAN STOCK.

WELL HOPE THIS IS HELPFULL TO SOME OF YOU(msporange

How much boost are you running? Careful how much info you disclose to the dealer.

10 psi but normal 8 psi its cool im in the car business i work for rick hendrick honda in va

I'm surprised that your service manager didn't tell you that Mazda is working on a flash (re-program) for the ECU. It is official, and they expect to have it within about the next 2 months. Looks like it is emissions that is holding it up.

It better be free, I don't see why it wouldn't...if it isn't free they'll have a nice brick through their showroom window.

yeah it will be free. it will be a recall type thing..they will notify you at your servicing that there is a problem with the ECU. In our case, and every other MSP on this site however, we will already know of the problem and can probably schedule with the dealer to get it reflashed

or so i think.

Didnt someone say that getting the ECU flashed might be a bad idea?? I forgot exactly why, but something about losing HP?? My car never stubled that bad, and with the FPR, it's almost never even feel it. What exactlywill this benefit?

I don't know about your car 2K3 Mazdaspeed but i just got a 2003.5 titanium MSP and the hesitation and fuel cut issue are really pissing me off.

I was thinking that if you kept bringing in to be serviced for this wouldn't the lemon law kick in???

Am I the only one that thought of this, or has it been mentioned before.....

no power loss
trust me

How do you know for sure? My service techs have known about the flash and will call me when it is in, but they don't know specifics. How can you be sure that they won't lean out the fuel and retard the spark?

hey 2k3, how much was your jic exhaust from autornd? just wondering.

yea that was discussed. the new fuel map could just kill some power. dont know if it will. if it does there will be more bitching to mazda NA cuz that means its false advertising on their HP numbers. i doubt theyll do that though cuz of the legal issues they had with the new miatas being rated at 160 hp and really making the same as the old motors. so the new fuel map should bring hp up. all they have to do is add more fuel to the lower rpm and lean up the top end and that should be good. they really shouldnt have to mess with the timing that much.

Emissions will be the hard part of this flash...for those that waited and waited and waited for the 2003.....same problem...emissions.....my bet is Mazda " solved " the emissions issue and introduced the hesitation
