Corksport Radiator/Fan Problem ~ Please Help!!

I purchased a Corksport radiator. I love the craftsmanship and quality, only one problem....It's like trying to shove 10 lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag.

My problem: Once the radiator is in and my 12" slim line fan is mounted, the hot-side intercooler piping will not fit. I spent alot of time searching the forum for pictures and discussions to find out how to make this work. I followed this up with alot of time standing over the car to figure it out. I'm convinced that, with my set-up, it simply will not work.

My question: What's wrong with mounting two 10" fans in front of the AC condensor/radiator.....closest to the grill and bumper? Does this make sense? Please see pictures below for a test fitment. Note that the picture represents a 12" fan for presentation only. After measuring, two 10" fans are the best way to go, if they will do the job.

Sorry for the crappy cell pics.....

If, they fit, go for it. I have the CS radiator and two 12" SPAL fans and they easily clear my hotpipe (turbolife/perrin kit). My only issue is if I ever decide to upgrade the turbo I'm not going to have enough room. Right now, one of the fans is only 1/2" from the turbo outlet. But yeah, if you can mount the fans on the A/C condensor go for it. Just make sure they're of the pusher variety. I'd love to put the fans on the front of the A/C condensor but there just isn't enough space.

Yeah I have the PWR Radiator and 2 12'' slim fans from silicone intakes . com w/turbolife/perrin fmic. They have plenty of space. Can you provide better pics of the problem?

I'll provide better pics a little later.

I was using two 12" "slim-line" fans from AutoZone....which is probably the majority of my problem anyway.

HOWEVER, I bought two slim-line fans from Spal that are scheduled to deliver tomorrow. I should have a better idea if I can make it work with these fans, which should be a little smaller (depth wise) and better quality to boot.

Uggghhh.....I wan't my car back on the road.

I ordered
1 ea. pusher slim-line 12" fan
1 ea. pusher slim-line 9" fan.

I could be wrong but...from what I measured, the 12" will fit on the passengar side and the 9" will fit on the driver side. I'll keep you posted.

Well I'm using both fans as pullers too. Not to mention I have a 28RS which is a slightly bigger turbo than stock.

How much bigger is the compressor housing on the 28RS over stock? I'm curious if my ~1/2" of space will be enough or if the compressor housing is going to hit the fan.

Its not that the compressor is much bigger but it moves the stock coolant lines out a little bit.

I guess mine will have different tolerances with a hiboost mani and PTE T3/4 but i was thinking about a dual pusher setup

I wanna say its thicker by 5mm, if I remember correctly.

"The CorkSport aluminum 52mm thick performance radiator. The CorkSport radiator bolts into the stock location with stock brackets and uses the stock cooling fans. The CorkSport radiator includes tig welded aluminum end tanks and high capacity 52mm thick core. This is a great upgrade over the stock 16mm thick core with increased heat capacity and cooling area."

Yeah, uses stock cooling fans with your STOCK setup.. I measured my stock radiator and I have about 2" at the top in width, which I'm guessing is about the same as the Corksport. Apparently they are only measuring the core, and not the posterior area that will be taking up the room. I'm still wondering about those fans.

And what is the LENGTH of the Corksport? I still haven't been able to find the answer to this.. technically, if they say you can use it with the stock fans, which I'm assuming is on a stock setup, how would there still be room for the SMIC with the size of the radiator? Is it the same length as the stock one?

I think they are referring to a P5 or sedan fan set up. There would be no way to use the smic at all.
