2013 CX-5 Sport
SOLD!!!

I did the Beta-testing for Corksport with their CX-5 exhaust but the wife is not letting me keep it. Fit and finish are excellent and install was a breeze at 30 min. Corksport told me they had almost 7whp gain from the exhaust. Used for about 500 miles and in excellent condition. I have a video/sound clip but the camera audio is very poor. There are a couple youtube videos of the exhaust on a mazda3 which sounds the same. Asking $400 obo picked up or $450 shipped. Located in 92688. PM if interested.

Looks cool, I'd like to buy some tips just like those.

I see your wife is not letting you keep it. How about a mini-review please, (since you drove with it for 500 miles).

Overall the part looks great and is well built. Fit and finish are excellent. Install took 30min without any help. They included a gasket, but the stock part does not have one. A deep socket is required to remove the stock part. Driving on the highway there is no drone and the exhaust is barely noticeable. Driving around town the exhaust is more noticeable as the automatic transmission likes to keep the RPMs as low as possible. During a cold start the exhaust is loud for the first 30 sec or so while the engine is in its warm-up period. I didn't really notice a huge difference in performance or mileage, but there was definitely not a decrease in either. Overall a nice piece, but we bought the car to be the daily driver and kid hauler so a stipulation of the exhaust was that my wife could ultimately make the decision to keep it. If you have any more questions let me know.

Hiflyer731 - Thanks for the excellent writeup, very helpful.

Realitically most of us with automotive experience don't expect any significant increase in power or MPG. The 30 second warm-up cycle noise is expected, given the stock exhaust is quite loud in that mode too.

The lack of droning is a plus, not all aftermarket exhausts can say that. Maybe a little extra sporty sound at full throttle? Must look pretty good on the CX-5 overall...

Note: I run a F-sport tuned exhaust on my Lexus IS, so I'm familiar with trade-offs of these exhaust systems, although that is a 60 degree V6 config.

Thanks! (2thumbs)

Received it today in good order. Thanks. Agreed - fitment was perfect. I found the gasket kit after I installed it. 1st impressions...definitely has some drone at start-up (1500 rpm). Haven't driven it yet. I had an MS3 w/HKS cat back and catted DP, so I'm used to the noise. Thanks for shipping.
