HEY EVERYONE JUST WANTED TO KNOW AND ASK SOME OF YOU WHAT YOU THINK OF THE CATZ FOG LIGHTS for protege5?

PRO'S AND CON'S

just actually put mine in last week, love them so far. Great light out put and they look awesome on the car. Look around and you can find them for killer prices.


I would say the only con is that they are not exactly plug and play, little bit of slicing needed if you want to use the stock fog light switch.

how hard was it to install, are they brighter or the same as stock what about the color yellow or amber,

easy to install and yes they are alot brighter then stock fogs

ya ebay use to i havent looked on ebay for a while so i dont no if they have anything right now but you can checkand as for a web site i dont think there is one. well i never found one lol

they are not hard to install, just jack up the car, take off the stock ones, splice the wires and mount them. you are going to need about 4 washers per light in order to get them to aim higher too, and thats about it.

I ordered some from ebay for about 50 bucks But what i want to know is how do i use the stock fog light switch?

cut the wires at the end of the stock fog lights and cut the wires at the end of the catz, match the colors together and just splice them together.

so it would work with the cars stock fog light harnes?

If u mean will it just plug into the stock harness like an HID setup, no, if you mean can you use the stock wiring, yes. Like i said, you basically are going to cut the end of the stock wires, then you cut the wires at the end of each fog light and splice them together. I can get u pics but your gonna have to wait until the weekend weather permitting (i have no garage (sad2))

should be fine, just dont cross the wires and you shouldnt have an issue.

the old harness can take new fogs lights.. aren't the Catz brighter and require more wattage?

depends, the stock fogs are 55w, some catz are 85w and some are 55w, the ones i have are 55w and do the job just fine. but either way the stock wires can be used, i am pretty sure there are a few people on here with 85w ones hooked up to the stock wires.

yep if u use the stock wiring it would be the same way as shown in the how-to

I have the SR 85W on stock wiring, with the fog light mod. No problems with any melting, and they look damn sexy
