Burning H7 headlight bulbs???

Catz sells some DI stuff... but it is not "Catz". The Catz bulbs are all OEM wattages and will not harm your wiring or housings....

liteswap, you would probable know the answer to this the best. I know what your saying abt the Xenon bulbs being higer wattage and burning the stock headlamp housing. Are HID's the same way? Will they burn the headlight housing?

Those are NOT HID bulbs. Please be aware of that before buying into this latest ploy from those vendors to steal your money.

In many instances, those high wattage Xenon filled "HID" bulbs generate less useable output than a premium halogen bulb.

Also, the higher wattage (almost double over stock) will generate A LOT of heat potentially causing COSTLY headlamp housing or wiring repair and replacement... be forewarned.

HIDs operate at 35W and actually run at a lower temperature while providing more output (a little more than twice as much for a H7 to be exact)

55W H7 halogen spec: 1500 lumens
35W 4500K Catz HID: 3200 lumens

Zero, unfortunately we have never tested those. I do not know about the life of these, but they should be decent.

Im not sure which ones the above site sells.. but DI has 2 Superwhite applications. a 55W (std wattage) and a 80W. I would stay away from the 80W one. I would assume that the superwhite is comperable in color to say a Silvania Silverstar (which does not have H7 yet). They also have a "Xenon Blue" in 55W which is about $4 more for the set.

If youre interested, email me and I'll get you a set with the 10% MazdaMP3 discount.

Reference this site as well as these part numbers:
DI-H7SWS (55W Superwhite) MSRP: $26
DI-H7XBS (55W Xenon Blue) MSRP: $30

If you want a great read on Halogen and HID and the difference between the two ... I suggest this site. Follow the menu from 'Cars' to 'Car write ups' to 'HID tutorial'

I have replaced my wiring harness to heavy duty one recently.
Got them from pepboys for $5 each. I don't know if they are good or not, but my old socket and harnesses were burnt out anyway. 55W with cool white or blue lite sounds really good. just wonder, how long they will last though.
I have cool blue H7 from sylvania but they are not either blue or white.
anyway, how much is total shipped to 60007 for those? ;)

Not getting all anal and huffy... just stating the facts. You won't believe the number of emails I get daily that read something like...

Why are your HID kits $400+ when I can buy the HID bulbs for $40? It does get irritating after a while, trust me ;)

No intention of flaming you or anyone else, just stating the facts. I did not seem like I was anal, but if I offended anyone, I apologize. As you can see by Bijou's post, I am not wrong when saying things can be damaged... so just be careful of what you buy......

Instead of buying $40 HID bulbs 10 times due to burnt out or other reasons, spend $400 once to prevents from any future damages like HID bulbs do, increase light outputs on the road and looks much cooler.
I will get HID kits as soon as I fix my car, but right now replacing bulbs are ok with me.
Buying bulbs are risky and you don't know how long they will last, i think this all depends on your driving style, sure PIAA is great one to use, and have warranty but they warranty bulbs itself not the headlight sockets or wiring harnesses.
basically what I'm trying to say is that spending money on HID Kits are worth it.
btw, hey liteswap you forgot to tell me about total price shipped to 60007.

So, Liteswap, how much is the total for the H7, H3 and 9005 in Di Super White????

On the other hand, I am think about the HKS Power Beam, has anyone try them before?? What color/temperature is the light output???

10% off our MSRP of $26 for all of those.

$26 each right? so total would be somewhere in $80 for all 3 of them.
Correct me if i'm wrong.
How do we place an order for this?

i just bought a NEW pair of H7's after the other blowing out on me, and not a day or two later the fuckers explode AGAIN. i m going to the dealership this is nonsense....

crap bulbs

I had those same bulbs that MP5Raycer has....look at the pic below.....this was after about 10-15 hours of use.....be careful with crap bulbs...

I have used 100watt APC one's.
from my experience, I strongly recommend not to use wattage higher than 55w.
it will give very bad damages to our headlights and won't last long and later you might have to replace new headlight assembly
I did.. :'( .:wtf:
overall HID kit is the best solution or stick to the factory ones.
