Burning H7 headlight bulbs???

liteswap - what do you think of Osram VisionPlus bulbs? I know you can only get them in Europe, but everything I have seen seems to show they actually put more light on the road at the same wattage, unlike "some" that claim "55w=85w" and such. Have you ever tried these?

I know you don't carry these, but you obviously know what you are talking about, so I thought I would ask.

Yes, I meant Philips, not Osram. They are about $45/pair, so I'm not sure they are worth it since they say the increase for the H7 is not that great (10%).

You may also want to opt for the Sylvania Silverstars H7 (only made in Europe) available at: www.powerbulbs.com

They are 45$ per pair shipped, if I remember correctly. The pair I ordered should be arriving any day now... I'll post again with the results...

hmm... did you order it from www.powerbulbs.com?
because when I did currency conversion it came out ~$29 USD pair
and they offer free shipping...

Ah ... I made that mistake too, and thought i found a superb deal. The thing is ... you need to convert 27.95 [Grt Britain Pounds] into [US dollars] ... A british pound is worth $1.50 US dollars, on average. It comes out to the pair of silverstars come out to $44.

lol

Alright guys, so what's the final call on this . . .

1. DI-H7SWS [55W Superwhite]
2. Sylvania Silverstars
3. Philips Blue Visions

Which one??? Help me decide!!!!

For me, if I changed one I will change all (H3,H7, and 9005) to get the full affect!

Well ... do you do alot of night driving ? If so, I would stay away from the blue vision. Blue colored light fatigues your eyes more than a bulb that produces yellow/white light. In addition, it is not possible to manufacture a halogen bulb that burns at more than 4000k (white daylight has a color temperature of 4100k). The bluish hue isn't produced until about 5300k ... therefore, the 'blue' color comes from colored film coating the bulb, which decreases the amount of actual light (lumens) outputted.

What it really all boils down to is that you, personally, want. Do you want blue ? By all means, buy the Blue Vision.

However, if you're like me ... I look for the most quality for the money I spend, meaning I chose the whitest, brightest, halogen bulb: Sylvania silverstars. Also, Osram, the makers of the silverstars, supply a most of the world's car manufacturers with OEM bulbs/HID's (along with Phillips). So I can safely bet the silverstars will be reliable and long lasting... My 2 cents. :) I hope it helps.

Liteswap, what do you think about the Phillips Blue Vision??? Do you have them???

Zero, unfortunately we have never tested those. I do not know about the life of these, but they should be decent.

Im not sure which ones the above site sells.. but DI has 2 Superwhite applications. a 55W (std wattage) and a 80W. I would stay away from the 80W one. I would assume that the superwhite is comperable in color to say a Silvania Silverstar (which does not have H7 yet). They also have a "Xenon Blue" in 55W which is about $4 more for the set.

If youre interested, email me and I'll get you a set with the 10% MazdaMP3 discount.

Reference this site as well as these part numbers:
DI-H7SWS (55W Superwhite) MSRP: $26
DI-H7XBS (55W Xenon Blue) MSRP: $30
