Brake downgrade?

I'm nearly 100% certain the rear discs on my 2008 Mazda5 were vented. I just noticed the rear discs on my 2010 Mazda5 are solid. Mazda trying to save another $1? Anyone with an 09 see if yours are vented or solid. Wondering when they made the switch.

I can't think of any regular passenger car w/ vented rear discs. it just isn't necessary. they don't get hot enough to require it.

I just picked it up in Miami Friday morning and brought it back yesterday. I hadn't seen it in three weeks. It does have solid rears. Not sure what I saw on it that made me think it was vented.

my 08 touring has solid rears as well.

I believe all the models have the same type of calipers, meaning they all have solid discs since a vented disc is much more thicker than the solid and will require a much wider pad opening.
