cleaned up the headlights, back to clear and shiny.
Bought a P5! Introductions and advice/suggestions needed!

^^^I used this one and it's still holding up pretty darn good. https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned) Does the 3M utilize a UV block? If not, expect them to cloud up again.

TBH I dunno, my dad has a set in the garage he bought at a gas station. I made a trip home to grab it from him haha. It utilized two diff grits of sand paper to prep and then 2 different kinds of polish/finish to apply in different stages.
I'm not sure about the UV block. I know that one of mine is still very faintly cloudy, but it's cuz I didn't spend as much time on it as the other one. And idk where the kit went..... Plus it doesn't say on the Advance website where I got it. Shoot...
I was thinking the same thing... car looks pretty good for it's age!

Clay bar'd the car. Waxed the hood cause I was soooo exhausted. There appear to be little specs all over the car from either sap or something that are extremely hard to get off. Only after extreme pressure with the clay bar will they come off. I did the hood but it took like 2 hours. Anyone have advice on removing these flakes? I'll try to get a pic of them later.

Sounds like rail dust(bits of metal from the environment embedded in the clear coat rusting on top of your paint). Look like this? Most visible on white cars. You need some iron-x.

Here is what they look like. Almost like paint specs to me. Some have a raised top coating that comes off the with clay bar others I have rubbed for like 10 minutes before they come off.

Well that's definitely the behavior of rail dust with a claybar...comes off eventually. But Ironx dissolves it easily. Hard to tell for certain with the pic. That blob in the upper left sure does look like some paint overspray or something with it looking so red rather than orange-ish.
I used the Mother's Kit with the ball for a drill, and it worked pretty well for my P5 heads. I used the 3M kit on my ZX3's severe headlights and it worked very well, but the Mother's kit seems to me to be a more showtime finish look.
I love a great clay bar/wax job. I did not do any of the plastic panels or the hatch. It is exhausting. Good luck with the sap spots, good to know that they (eventually) do come off! Keep us updated on progress, I love to see what others do with their cars!

Posted this in the other in the other thread but plastidipped the rear valance and badges. Was my first plastidip and came out "ok." Coulda been better. Not sure if I like the badges I may remove them all together.
